“Half of space depends on design the other half is derived from presence and spirit.”
(Tadao Ando)
In a quiet corner of the modern villa community, this 530 square meter residence is a warm harbor tailored for parents and three children. The ultimate pursuit of comfortable living environment for children by customers makes ZE | Workroom the best choice - its collection of works includes many childrens room designs that combine aesthetic texture and childlike creativity, which have already laid the foundation for compatibility.
Although the original building foundation was simple, it carried the core demand of family vacation each finding their own place: not only to give each child an exclusive space, but also to provide a spacious public space to carry family gatherings. Fortunately, the ample 530 square meters allowed the dream to come true, and the challenge and ingenuity of the project stemmed from revitalizing the existing building structure - when the ZE | Workroom team took over, the main building had already been completed, and the design achieved a dual breakthrough in functionality and aesthetics while respecting the original framework.
The soul of design is hidden in the ingenuity of the childrens area: the game house connects two childrens rooms with a fun secret door, allowing children to gain pure happiness while playing through the doors. We often inject clever ideas into childrens spaces such as game rooms, mezzanines, or exercise areas, and this project is also full of creative fun. The designers words are full of enthusiasm, and this childlike charm does not break the overall tone of the space.
As architect Alexandra Averkina said, the project is centered around restraint and harmony, tracing back to the minimalist essence of modernist villas in the last century, while using natural materials to create a warm and comfortable home atmosphere. Among them, limestone can be regarded as the finishing touch: it not only establishes the warm tone of the space, but also seamlessly connects the kitchen, living room, study and master bedroom with natural texture, making each area visually connected and connected with charm. The collision of cave stones and wooden veneers outlines a natural color scheme dominated by warm chocolate colors, supplemented by cream and coffee colors, with each texture exuding a sense of protoplasm.
Alexandra added that the furniture selection always adheres to the balance between minimalist design and comfortable experience. The project uses NW.Bureaus own brand furniture, including custom-made cave stone coffee tables and Pest dining tables for the space, allowing the design language to run through the entire process.
The subtlety of space lies in its separation without separation: each area has clear flow lines and functions, but is seamlessly integrated through the connection of materials, colors, and design logic, which not only meets the convenience of daily use, but also maintains the emotional connection of the family. The final presentation is a low-key yet unique work - using noble natural materials as the bone and childlike ingenuity as the soul, transforming the iconic aesthetic concept of ZE | Workroom into a warm daily life of three meals and four seasons.
