LENOX HILL TOWNHOUSE is a six-story townhouse located in the Upper East Side of New York, inspired by the aesthetics of the Middle Ages and reinterpreted in a modern way. The project was led by architect and interior designer Rafael de Cárdenas, who skillfully integrated historical language, contemporary living needs and unique aesthetics to create a narrative-rich and multi-layered living space.

设计的起点源自一幅中世纪花卉图案。其精细的纹理与节奏感深深吸引了拉斐尔·德·卡德纳斯（Rafael de Cárdenas），并被他延伸为贯穿全屋的视觉主题。花卉元素以更为现代的方式出现在墙面织物、家具细节和饰面材质中，为空间注入优雅的历史气息，却不显复古沉闷，而是与当代材料和工艺共同构成新的视觉表达。

The designs starting point originated from a medieval floral pattern. Its intricate texture and rhythmic quality deeply attracted Rafael de Cárdenas, who extended it as a visual theme throughout the house. The floral elements appeared in a more modern way in wall fabrics, furniture details, and surface materials, infusing the space with an elegant historical atmosphere without seeming retro and dull. Instead, they formed a new visual expression together with contemporary materials and craftsmanship.

住宅内部围绕自然光展开布局。大面积的开窗与垂直向上的动线设计，让光线可以在六层空间中自由穿梭，形成明亮而通透的居住氛围。色彩运用在克制与大胆之间取得平衡：整体空间以柔和中性色为基底，而每个房间则以深色、饱和色或图案墙面强化自身个性，使整体统一中又具变化。

The interior of the residence is designed around natural light. Large windows and upward vertical circulation patterns allow light to freely flow through the six floors, creating a bright and transparent living atmosphere. The use of colors strikes a balance between restraint and boldness: the overall space is based on soft neutral tones, while each room highlights its own personality through dark, saturated colors or patterned walls, achieving unity while also presenting variations.

家具与艺术品的配置呈现出多样的美学语境。现代线条的座椅与灯具、带有复古质感的木质柜体、抽象艺术作品与中世纪图案织物并置，形成丰富而鲜明的视觉层次。一架黑色三角钢琴成为客厅的核心，不仅以其雕塑般的姿态提升空间气质，也赋予居住场景一种仪式感。

The arrangement of furniture and artworks presents diverse aesthetic contexts. Modern lines of seats and lamps, wooden cabinets with a retro feel, abstract art pieces and medieval patterned fabrics are juxtaposed together, creating a rich and distinct visual hierarchy. A black grand piano becomes the core of the living room, not only enhancing the spatial atmosphere with its sculptural posture, but also giving the living scene a sense of ceremony.

户外空间同样经过精心设计。庭院与露台以绿色植物、石材和金属细节串联，让建筑在紧凑的城市结构中依旧保持与自然的连结。光线、空气与绿意通过这些外部空间进入室内，使居住体验更加从容而舒适。

借由历史图案的再诠释、光线的精细掌控以及材质与色彩的协调组合，LENOX HILL TOWNHOUSE 呈现出一种跨越时间的美学体验，让中世纪灵感在现代都市生活中焕发新意。

The outdoor spaces have also been meticulously designed. The courtyards and terraces are connected by green plants, stone and metal details, allowing the building to maintain its connection with nature within the compact urban structure. Light, air and greenery enter the interior through these external spaces, making the living experience more relaxed and comfortable. Through the reinterpretation of historical patterns, the precise control of light, and the harmonious combination of materials and colors, the LENOX HILL TOWNHOUSE presents an aesthetic experience that transcends time, allowing the medieval inspiration to take on a new meaning in modern urban life.
