Nestled on a hillside on the southwestern coast of the Greek island of Mykonos, En Kyano is a haven for secular travelers. StudioMacBride hired Thomas Heyne (co-founder of The Scorpios) to redesign the villa in order to enhance the existing architectural plan while giving new life to its interior and exterior Spaces. Drawing inspiration from the islands long culture and traditions, the design team used a soft modernist approach to create a resort that combines timeless beauty with thoughtful design.

庭院被重新构想为酒店的中心，成为一个宁静的休闲空间，适合客人放松与社交。这片区域不仅承载了建筑物的核心功能，还营造出宾至如归的氛围。

Designed to balance the need for privacy and sharing. On the uppermost level, the space is divided into two parts - one with a spacious living area and master bedroom, and the other with two private rooms. By creating a modern pergola, the design team cleverly connected these two parts of the structure, while providing shading and ventilation, giving the overall building a light and elegant aesthetic. The courtyard has been reimagined as the heart of the hotel, becoming a tranquil leisure space for guests to relax and socialize. This area not only accommodates the core functions of the building, but also creates a homecoming atmosphere.

室内设计以天然材料为核心，通过与当地工匠的紧密合作，将米科诺斯岛的传统乡土建筑与现代元素巧妙结合。设计团队选用了希腊原产的石灰石、烟熏橡木和喷砂石灰华等材料，以追求简约而真实的质感。例如，宽敞的开放式厨房以浓郁的烟熏橡木木工、定制混凝土瓷砖以及由当地大理石制成的台面为主，营造出温暖而实用的空间氛围。厨房与起居区由木梁天花板连接，同时通过视觉屏障保护主卧的隐私。

The interior design is centered on natural materials, and through close collaboration with local artisans, the traditional vernacular architecture of Mykonos is skillfully combined with modern elements. Materials of Greek origin, such as limestone, smoked oak and sandblasted travertine were used to achieve a simple and authentic texture. For example, the spacious open kitchen is dominated by rich smoky oak carpentry, custom concrete tiles and countertops made of local marble, creating a warm and functional atmosphere. The kitchen is connected to the living area by a wood-beamed ceiling, while a visual barrier protects the privacy of the master bedroom.

In intimate Spaces such as the bedroom and bathroom, the storage design blends perfectly with the simple style of traditional Cycladic homes, understatement and warmth. The careful selection of artworks and objects injects personality and culture into the space.

除了主楼的共享空间外，别墅还提供六间地下客房，满足客人对隐私的需求。四间面朝大海的客房让住客尽享壮阔的海景，而另外两间则围绕英国宫廷风格的庭院布置，让柔和的自然光渗透到每个角落，营造出平静的氛围。浴室设计与庭院景致融为一体，使自然景观成为室内体验的延伸。

In addition to the shared Spaces in the main building, the villa also offers six underground rooms to meet guests needs for privacy. Four ocean-facing rooms allow guests to enjoy sweeping sea views, while the other two are arranged around an English court-style courtyard, allowing soft natural light to permeate every corner, creating a calming atmosphere. The bathroom design is integrated with the views of the courtyard, making the natural landscape an extension of the indoor experience.

StudioMacBrides design philosophy revolves around practical materials and sustainability, showing respect and care for the environment. While retaining traditional architectural skills, the design team spoke to a modern aesthetic and, through collaboration with local artisans, created Spaces with cultural depth and timeless charm. The natural texture of the plaster provides a subtle contrast to the local stone, while the combination of smoked oak and travertine sinks adds warmth. This deliberate choice of materials shows both concern for the environment and homage to Greek craft culture.

The designers innovative dialogue with the history and environment of the hotel perfectly blends classical tradition with modern timeless design concepts to create a unique experience for every visitor to remember.
