Located in Zeebrugge, West Flanders, Belgium, Navonus House was designed by TJIP Interior Architecture. This is a residence full of simplicity and comfort, designed to highlight the minimalist aesthetic of natural tones. By choosing materials with a rough texture, such as concrete with a visible granular structure, the designers established a direct connection to the surrounding quay environment. This choice of materials not only echoes the industrial character of the port of Zeebrugge, but also enhances the original texture of the space.

The bathroom design is particularly unique, with a monochromatic color scheme in dark greenish-blue tones and a stainless steel finish meant to pay homage to the mysterious underwater world. This combination of colors and materials not only adds depth to the space, but also brings a simple yet elegant visual effect to the room. In contrast, dark finishes and soft textiles are used in the rest of the house to create a natural sense of sophistication and comfort to the touch. This contrast further strengthens the character of the space and makes the whole house look unique.

The design focuses on the balance of the space, the layout uses a wide ceiling height, vertical adjustment and targeted light balance to break up the monotony of horizontal alignment. This design approach not only brings a harmonious visual feeling to the interior space, but also provides a calm and relaxing experience for the occupants.

The owner has clear requirements for the function of the house. They wanted a workspace that could be completely separate from a one-bedroom apartment with a separate entrance. In such a compact weekend home, the designers cleverly combined versatility with custom design to maximize the use of space. For example, an invisible sofa bed is integrated into the house, a design that both saves space and meets the occupants need for extra sleeping space.
