Deep within the historic district of the ancient city of Cáceres in the Extremadura region of Spain, a place inscribed on the UNESCO list, the 16th - century Palacio de Godoy has embraced a new lease on life. This Renaissance - style mansion, crafted by Francisco de Godoy, has now been transformed into a charming boutique hotel with 73 guest rooms. Between its thick stone walls, it sweetly tells a design story that spans across the Iberian Peninsula and the Andes.

室内设计师西蒙·凯勒（Szymon Keller）受邀主持此次改造工程。这座曾作为修道院使用、而后闲置多年的历史建筑，被重新规划为适配当代旅居生活的公共空间：图书馆、酒吧、水疗中心与餐厅环绕着玻璃顶回廊庭院，柔和的自然光穿过古老拱券，洒在以家族纹章为灵感定制的陶砖地面上。

Interior designer Szymon Keller was invited to lead this renovation project. This historical building, which had been used as a monastery and then remained idle for many years, was re-planned to become a public space suitable for contemporary living: a library, a bar, a spa center and a restaurant surround the glass-roofed arcade courtyard. Soft natural light passes through the ancient arches and spills onto the ceramic tile floor designed with inspiration from the family coat of arms.

凯勒从戈多伊远赴秘鲁的经历中汲取设计灵感，将安第斯几何纹样与卡塞雷斯当地的花岗岩、砂岩及赤陶材质巧妙融合。手绘床头板、木质雕塑、匠人手工雕琢的石质洗手盆，搭配本地工坊烧制的陶砖，共同营造出空间的独特韵律。织物与细节处的色彩层层铺展，既致敬秘鲁传统工艺，也呼应着西班牙明媚热烈的阳光。

Keller drew design inspiration from his journey from Godoy to Peru, seamlessly integrating Andean geometric patterns with the local granite, sandstone and terracotta materials in Caceres. Hand-painted headboards, wooden sculptures, hand-carved stone washbasins by artisans, along with locally-fired ceramic tiles, jointly create the unique rhythm of the space. The layers of colors in fabrics and details pay homage to Peruvian traditional craftsmanship, while also echoing the bright and warm sunlight of Spain.

客房延续了简约却富有张力的设计语言。浴室被打造成私密的艺术空间，粗犷的砂岩与温润的木质相互映衬；卧室里，定制家具由凯勒团队携手埃斯特雷马杜拉与秘鲁匠人共同打造，让现代设计线条与古老建筑墙体自然相融。走上露台，红瓦屋顶与圣地亚哥钟楼尽收眼底，历史的厚重感与旅途的浪漫想象在此完美交汇。

The guest rooms maintain a simple yet dynamic design language. The bathrooms have been transformed into private artistic spaces, where rough sandstone contrasts with the warm wood; in the bedrooms, custom furniture was crafted by the Keller team in collaboration with artisans from Extremadura and Peru, allowing modern design lines to seamlessly blend with the ancient building walls. Ascending to the terrace, the red-tiled roof and the San Diego Clock Tower come into view, perfectly merging the weight of history with the romantic imagination of the journey.
