The Schneider familys history in Lech dates back to 1451, when they were among the earliest settlers in the area. For centuries, the hotel remained a modest mountain farmhouse in a remote valley along the Lech River. Since 1929, it has been operated by the same family for four generations, welcoming guests from around the world, many of whom have become regular visitors year after year, drawn by the warmth of a homecoming. Despite its continuous development and incorporation of understated luxury, guests can still feel the strong family-business atmosphere and genuine friendship.

The Simplicity design team, led by Shinichiro Ogata, undertook the spatial design for Almhof Schneider. The project aimed to connect the newly built two-story underground space with the ancient main house. Inspired by the shared traditions of Austria and Japan in recycling forest resources and living in harmony with nature, the design takes this as its core concept, echoing the philosophy of coexistence between humans and nature.

Shinichiro Ogata, deeply influenced by Le Corbusier in the field of architectural design, places particular emphasis on creating ambient lighting. In 2018, the Schneider family collaborated with Ogata to design the underground parking lot. Light streams into the interior through circular skylights, adhering to Japanese Yin-Yang philosophy and light-shadow concepts. The fair-faced concrete walls create a serene and solemn atmosphere, allowing visitors to quickly release stress and reach a peaceful state of mind, making it one of the most architecturally stylish and spatially beautiful parking lots in daily life.

The buildings exterior features organic symbolic motifs representing Lechs local natural landscape, while the underground space is designed with multifunctionality in mind, serving as a parking lot and entrance in winter and transforming into an art gallery in summer, creating a unique and flexible venue.

At the center of the hotel lobby stands a striking fireplace designed by Italian artist Giuseppe Ducrot, serving as the visual focal point and spiritual core of the entire space. Crafted with a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics, the fireplaces understated shape and delicate materials resonate with the hotels overall natural and tranquil ambiance. Surrounded by comfortable seating and subtle lighting, it creates a warm and elegant social and relaxation area.

The Herbarium, adorned with spruce wood paneling and displaying woodcarvings by Christian Thanhäuser, is hailed as one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Alpine region. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant serves Austrian classics and Alpine-flavored dishes.

Since its inception, the Wunderkammer has adhered to the concept of an Austrian tavern, with indoor murals painted by Paul Renner creating a cozy and relaxed dining environment. The menu offers a selection of Austrian classics and Alpine specialties, catering to modern diners appreciation for simple yet precise and creative cuisine.

全新的Almhof水疗中心以“从容与沉浸”为核心理念，改造后空间布局清晰，自然光线充足，并可欣赏花园、村庄与古老教堂的美景。在材料选择上，保留现有游泳池并采用凿毛和打磨处理的奥地利石灰石，该质感舒缓的材质用于亲水表面，而地板、天花板和墙面等干燥区域则选用橡木。

The new Almhof Spa centers on the concept of calmness and immersion. After renovation, the space features a clear layout, abundant natural light, and scenic views of the garden, village, and ancient church. In terms of material selection, the existing swimming pool is retained, and Austrian limestone, treated with chiseling and polishing, is used for its soothing texture on water-contact surfaces, while oak is chosen for dry areas such as floors, ceilings, and walls.

They can relax in the steam bath, sauna, or indoor pool, or stretch out in the relaxation room and solarium.In addition to classic bathing facilities, the spa boasts a well-equipped gym and a multifunctional space for yoga, Pilates, Antara, TRX, and other training sessions. It aims to invite guests to relax and discover inner balance in this soothing environment.

The Billiard Lounge, located near the reception, features soft lighting and a unique ambiance, with an art display cabinet, antique billiard tables, and comfortable seating, along with various rare collectibles on display. The first-floor library provides a tranquil environment, equipped with bookshelves, comfortable seating, and high-tech presentation equipment, suitable for deep thinking, wine tasting, small meetings, and enjoying Vallauri classical vinyl records. The basement cinema features seven comfortable three-seater sofas, allowing guests to request movies or participate in hotel screenings.

The Club Room, located near the bridge between the hotel and the garage, features Persian rugs and is equipped with giant beanbags, a ping-pong table, table football, and a games room. Childcare is also available, providing a spacious and secluded retreat for young guests. The ski room, just 20 meters from the slopes, offers heated boot lockers, ample storage, and a loaner service for skis, toboggans, and strollers. Gear can also be stored year-round.

The hotels wine cellar houses 25,000 bottles of wine, primarily from Europe, allowing guests to purchase rare Austrian wines or local fruit liqueurs as souvenirs. The adjacent boutique, curated by Gerold and Katia, sells a variety of distinctive products, including Austrian glassware, exquisite wooden cutting boards, and wines.

Hotel artworks are cleverly placed in unexpected corners, with most commissioned for specific rooms and others having been exhibited at Allmeinde Commongrounds. Hotel manager Katia states that Almhof is not positioned as an art hotel; its deep connection with art stems from the familys educational background, with architecture and art profoundly influencing their lives since their school days. All the works in the hotel are the fruits of encounters with outstanding creators, enriching both the hotel space and their life experiences.

The hotel offers a total of 18 guest rooms and 35 suites, significantly enhancing the living experience through the use of local wood, stone, and the simple and practical forms of Alpine architecture. The spaces also feature Alpine spruce wood paneling, oiled walnut wood, Salzburg limestone, open fireplaces, vintage Alpine furniture, and handmade beds, with every detail reflecting meticulous design crafted by long-standing partner craftsmen companies. The fusion of traditional high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship continues the classic charm while showcasing contemporary flair.
