Dinesen, a leading Danish manufacturer of high-end wood flooring, has launched Dinesen Apartment in Brooklyn, New York, designed by renowned Danish architect David Thulstrup. This is a temporary exhibition space and immersive experience apartment that will be open until February 2026. This space offers visitors the opportunity to experience the unique texture and aesthetics of Dinesen wood in an intimate residential environment, breaking away from the traditional exhibition hall display model and integrating Danish design concepts into the meticulously planned living space.

Thulstrup said, "Everything I design is to create a sense of place." This is not merely a display of materials, but also a process of evoking emotions through scale, light and shadow, and texture. The wood of Dinesen has grown for decades and possesses a serene and profound power. This project enables visitors to experience this power in a completely immersive way."

公寓位于144 Vanderbilt Avenue的1、2层，该建筑由SO—IL设计，Tankhouse开发，并由其担任承建和开发角色，使建筑成为呈现Dinesen木材的温馨画布。Dinesen Apartment是Dinesen在美国的首个空间实践，也是其继2024年哥本哈根Dinesen Apartment（John Pawson约翰·波森设计）后的第二个公寓概念。

The apartment is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of 144 Vanderbilt Avenue. The building was designed by SO-IL and developed by Tankhouse, which also served as the contractor and developer, making it a warm canvas showcasing Dinesen wood. Dinesen Apartment is Dinesens first spatial practice in the United States and its second Apartment concept following the Dinesen Apartment in Copenhagen in 2024 (designed by John Pawson).

空间核心采用Dinesen Layers Oak经典款橡木，呈现宁静典雅的视觉效果并确保结构稳定性。连续的木质表面贯穿室内，局部采用Layers HeartOak增添天然纹理与历史感，通过橡木蝴蝶榫固定自然裂纹。木材还延伸至墙面护板、定制楼梯、书柜及床头板，形成温暖统一的视觉语言。

The core of the space is made of the classic Dinesen Layers Oak oak, presenting a serene and elegant visual effect and ensuring structural stability. Continuous wooden surfaces run through the interior, with Layers HeartOak used locally to add natural textures and a sense of history, and natural cracks are fixed by oak butterfly tenons. The wood also extends to the wall panels, custom stairs, bookcases and headboards, creating a warm and unified visual language.

室内家具由Thulstrup（图尔斯特鲁普）精心挑选，包括为Brdr. Krüger设计的Arv系列及John Pawson（约翰·波森）为Dinesen设计的作品。软装选用Sahco品牌Levino面料，融合不同年代与风格的丹麦复古家具，如Arne Jacobsen（阿尔内·雅各布森）与Severin Hansen（塞弗林·汉森）的经典作品，为空间增加历史层次感。Thulstrup强调：“我喜欢叠加不同时间线与角色——现代、经典与手工艺，整体氛围安静而踏实，意在放慢时间的节奏。”

The interior furniture was carefully selected by Thulstrup, including the Arv series designed for Brdr. Kruger and the works designed by John Pawson for Dinesen. The soft furnishings are made of Sahco brand Levino fabric, integrating Danish retro furniture of different eras and styles, such as the classic works of Arne Jacobsen and Severin Hansen, adding a sense of historical layering to the space. Thulstrup emphasized: "I enjoy superimposing different timelines and characters - modern, classic and handcrafted. The overall atmosphere is quiet and down-to-earth, aiming to slow down the pace of time."
