MOLLIE Aspen is a new 68-room boutique hotel with an understated luxury that takes its cues from the town’s historic ties to the Bauhaus movement. In what is collaboration between Colorado practice CCY Architects and Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary design firm Post Company.

酒店坐落在阿斯彭主街（Main Street）显要位置，毗邻历史悠久的帕普克公园（Paepke Park），雄踞加米施大道与主街交汇的转角地带。受包豪斯运动及阿斯彭与这一设计理念的深厚渊源所启发，酒店设计强调功能主导形式。在有限的用地范围内，空间利用高效而周密。

Inspired by the Bauhaus movement and Aspen’s profound connection to this design ethos, the hotel’s design is rooted in simplicity and utility, where function governs form. With a relatively small footprint, the design is both efficient and thoughtful in its use of space.

酒店地处阿斯彭市中心主街，基地位于两个街区的交界处，两侧呈现出迥异的建筑风貌：一侧为历史悠久的西区（West End），是以维多利亚时期住宅为主的居住性片区；另一侧则是阿斯彭商业核心区，建筑体量规模较大。CCY的设计对此作出针对性回应：底部砌砖结构与商业区肌理相融，而上层木饰板墙面则与居住区景观呼应。

With a prominent site on Main Street, in downtown Aspen, the hotel’s location is at the border of two districts, each with different architectural character. One side, the historic West End is a predominantly residential area with historic Victorian homes. And on the other side is Aspen’s commercial core comprising buildings at larger scale. CCY’s design responds to each condition. Brick, which is used at the base, ties the building to the commercial core, while wood siding, used in the upper floors, correlates to the residential landscape.

Though the hotel has a relatively small footprint, the scale of the building is still robust, particularly when considered alongside the residential district. To modulate that scale, we articulated the facade with projections designed at the rhythm of historic lot widths. As a result, in mass and scale, the commercial building resonates with the surrounding houses.

Post Company统筹室内空间与品牌视觉体系——酒店设计根植于简约性、功能性、材质表现与工艺精神的融合。通过天然木材、陶土陶瓷与手工染织品的运用，受包豪斯启发的室内空间浸润着 vernacular soulfulness（在地灵韵），折射出阿斯彭的文化传承。MOLLIE既是宁静休憩之所，亦是活力社交枢纽：客房氛围松弛惬意，公共区域则充满欢聚活力——涵盖设有全年户外座席的大堂酒吧与餐厅、休闲全日咖啡馆，以及夜幕时分化为私密酒廊的屋顶泳池露台——这一切旨在凝聚社群，恰如酒店同名人物、19世纪当地女性Mollie Gibson那般，以其对户外永不停息的热忱将人们联结在一起。

Post Company are responsible for both the interiors and graphic identity, the hotel’s design is rooted in simplicity and utility as much as materiality and craftsmanship. Reflecting Aspen’s cultural heritage, a vernacular soulfulness pervades the Bauhaus-inspired interiors thanks to the use of natural woods, earthen ceramics and hand-dyed textiles. Part peaceful retreat, part vibrant communal hub, MOLLIE’s relaxed guest rooms are complemented by convivial public spaces — namely a lobby bar and restaurant with year-round outdoor seating, a laid-back all-day café, and a rooftop pool and terrace which becomes an intimate lounge by night — designed to bring people together, just like Mollie Gibson, a 19th century local figure known for her restless enthusiasm for the outdoors which the hotel takes its name from.

亮点设计包括曲线形前台（饰以瘤木雕琢面板）、集合几何造型混凝土板与精致木作的酒吧区，以及三楼 lounge ——粗陶砖面诉说着小镇银矿开采史，其中亦包括与酒店同名的Mollie Gibson银矿。

Further design highlights include the curvilinear reception desk sculpturally clad in burl wood, the bar area which brings together geometric sculptural concrete panels and elegant millwork, and the third-floor lounge where rugged terracotta tiling speaks to the town’s foundational history of mining, which include the Mollie Gibson silver mine, also named after the hotel’s namesake.

借鉴包豪斯艺术家兼建筑师Herbert Bayer（阿斯彭知名居民，倡导艺术融合理念）的思想，酒店将Landon Metz、Ethan Cook、Rachel Snack等当代艺术家的纺织、雕塑与绘画作品有机融入公共空间、餐厅及客房。悬挂于大堂的Rachel Snack大型编织装置——一件受20世纪抽象主义画家Agnes Martin与纺织艺术家Anni Albers启发的手工染制挂毯——既定调空间氛围，亦成为酒店品牌识别的视觉范本。

Taking a page from Bauhaus artist and architect Herbert Bayer, one of Aspens most famous residents and an advocate of the integration of all arts, an eclectic collection of textiles, sculptures and paintings by contemporary artists such as Landon Metz, Ethan Cook and Rachel Snack is seamlessly integrated throughout the public spaces, restaurants and rooms. Rachel Snack’s large woven installation hanging in the lobby, a custom-made, hand-dyed tapestry inspired by 20th century abstractionists painter Agnes Martin and weaver Anni Albers, also sets the tone as well as serves as a template for branding across the hotel.

餐饮空间适合聚会，从早晨的咖啡到晚上的鸡尾酒，包括大堂餐厅和酒吧，配有全年加热的户外座位、悠闲的全天咖啡馆以及带水疗池的服务式屋顶露台，可一览无余地欣赏阿斯彭山的美景。

The dining spaces are designed to invite gatherings, from morning coffee to evening cocktails, and consist of a lobby restaurant and bar with year-round heated outdoor seating, a laid-back all-day café, and a serviced roof terrace featuring a spa pool with unobstructed views of Aspen Mountain.

客房内延续天然木饰、大地色手染织物与陶艺元素，营造温润氛围，大幅窗扇则将自然景致引入室内。自然终究是阿斯彭最恒久的珍贵资产，而MOLLIE酒店正如其同名的冒险家一般，全然致力于引领宾客沉浸于这片天地之美。

Natural wood accents, hand-dyed textiles in earth tones and ceramics continue in the guestrooms imbuing a sense of coziness, while large windows allow guests to enjoy the hotels beautiful surroundings. Nature is after all Aspen’s most enduring and precious asset, and MOLLIE, like its namesake adventurer, is all about basking in its beauty.
