Designed by Moriyama Teshima Architects, Infinity House is a private residence for a retired couple located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. This house is not only a gathering place for family and friends, but also a tranquil residence that perfectly combines an elegant and comfortable lifestyle with respect for the environment and celebration of the natural landscape.

无限之居（Infinity House）由 Moriyama Teshima Architects 设计，坐落于加拿大安大略省尼亚加拉湖畔，是一座为退休夫妇精心打造的私人住宅。这座住宅不仅是家庭与朋友的聚会之所，更是一处将优雅舒适的生活方式与对环境的尊重、对自然景观的礼赞完美融合的宁静居所。

室外设计：与湖光水色共融

选址与建筑形态

The residence is located on the shoreline of Lake Ontario, parallel to the lake, and cleverly situated on the northern edge of the site, allowing residents to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the lake. The building is in the form of a long and low bungalow with an asymmetrical gable roof on top. This design not only draws on the characteristics of the roof landscape of local agricultural buildings, but also interprets it in a modern way, making it harmoniously coexist with the surrounding natural environment, like a humble work of art, quietly nestling by the lake.

住宅选址于安大略湖的湖岸线，与湖岸平行而建，巧妙地坐落在场地的北侧边缘，使居住者能够尽览湖景的壮丽全景。建筑呈长而低矮的平房形式，顶部配以不对称的山墙屋顶，这一设计既借鉴了当地农业建筑屋顶景观的特色，又以现代的手法进行了诠释，使其与周边自然环境和谐共生，宛如一件谦逊的艺术品，静静地依偎在湖畔。

Along the lakeside, riprap was used to protect an important poplar tree and stabilize the shoreline, reflecting the awareness of protecting the natural ecology. This design not only enhances the connection between the house and the lake, but also ensures the stability and sustainability of the building in the natural environment.

在湖边沿线，采用乱石护岸的方式保护了一棵重要的杨树，同时稳定了湖岸线，体现了对自然生态的保护意识。这种设计不仅增强了住宅与湖泊之间的联系，还确保了建筑在自然环境中的稳定性和可持续性。

景观与可持续性设计

The courtyard landscape is planted with a large number of regenerative wildflowers and native plants, which not only beautify the environment, but also contribute to local biodiversity. The retention of rainwater through a rainwater collection system further supports the balance of the ecosystem and reduces dependence on external water resources.

庭院景观中种植了大量的再生野花和本土植物，这些植物不仅美化了环境，还为当地的生物多样性做出了贡献。通过雨水收集系统保留雨水，进一步支持了生态系统的平衡，减少了对外部水资源的依赖。

Utilizing an existing on-site well reduces demand on the municipal water supply and achieves efficient use of water resources. This sustainable water management strategy is an important part of the home’s environmentally friendly design, reflecting the appreciation of natural resources.

利用现有的现场水井，降低了对市政供水的需求，实现了水资源的有效利用。这种可持续的水资源管理策略是住宅环保设计的重要组成部分，体现了对自然资源的珍视。

室内设计：简约宁静中的精致生活

空间布局与材料搭配

The interior space layout is carefully designed, and each area echoes each other, creating a comfortable and elegant living atmosphere. In terms of material selection, Canadian black granite is used in the kitchen, matched with custom bookshelves, sideboards and stair railings, etc. These elements together form a unified formal language, and through the balanced expression of dark and light natural materials, create an overall, simple and tranquil space atmosphere, which complements the academic and culinary interests of the residents.

室内空间布局精心设计，各个区域相互呼应，共同营造出舒适而优雅的居住氛围。在材料选择上，采用了加拿大黑色花岗岩用于厨房，搭配与之相呼应的定制书架、餐具柜和楼梯扶手等家具，这些元素共同构成了一种统一的形式语言，通过深色与浅色自然材料的平衡表达，创造出整体、简约而宁静的空间氛围，与居住者的学术和烹饪兴趣相得益彰。

The design of the furniture is perfectly integrated with the architectural space, with attention to detail and quality, reflecting the pursuit of exquisite life. Whether it is the sofa in the living room, the bed in the bedroom or the table and chairs in the dining room, they are all carefully selected or customized to ensure their comfort and beauty, while being consistent with the overall space style.

家具的设计与建筑空间完美融合，注重细节和品质，体现了对精致生活的追求。无论是客厅的沙发、卧室的床铺还是餐厅的桌椅，都经过精心挑选或定制，以确保其舒适性和美观性，同时与整体空间风格保持一致。

采光与能源效率

The design of spacious windows and doors not only provides ample natural lighting for the interior, allowing residents to fully enjoy the warmth and beauty of the sun, but also minimizes dependence on artificial lighting and reduces energy consumption. During the day, the interior is bright and transparent, and daily life needs can be met without excessive lighting.

宽敞的窗户和门的设计不仅为室内提供了充足的自然采光，使居住者能够充分享受阳光的温暖和美景，还最大限度地减少了对人工照明的依赖，降低了能源消耗。在白天，室内明亮而通透，无需过多的灯光照明即可满足日常生活需求。

In its interior and exterior decoration design, Infinite Residence fully reflects the harmonious coexistence of modern architecture and the natural environment, as well as the pursuit of a sustainable lifestyle. From the exterior of the building that echoes the lake view to the simple and tranquil interior space, from the use of environmentally friendly materials to the improvement of energy efficiency, every detail demonstrates the designers deep understanding of quality life and environmental protection, creating an ideal home for residents that is both comfortable and luxurious and in harmony with nature.

无限之居在室内外装饰装修设计上充分体现了现代建筑与自然环境的和谐共生，以及对可持续生活方式的追求。从与湖景相呼应的建筑外观到简约宁静的室内空间，从环保材料的运用到能源效率的提升，每一个细节都彰显了设计师对品质生活和环境保护的深刻理解，为居住者打造了一个既舒适奢华又与自然和谐共处的理想家园。
