After two years of careful preparation, The Lakehouse on the shores of a lake in the Midwest of the United States is finally complete. Designed by Of Place Studio, this multi-generation home offers the owners family a haven from everyday life, but also blends modern design with the romance of traditional lakeside living into a space for never-ending summer dreams.

The Lakehouse is a modern interpretation of a traditional lakeside cottage. Clean lines, open layouts and natural elements create a space that is both elegant and functional. Through careful control of light, materials and spatial proportions, the house combines modern aesthetics with the natural atmosphere of the surrounding lake environment.

The exterior is made of natural materials such as untreated wood, stone and metal, echoing the soft tones of the lake and surrounding trees. The interior design emphasizes warmth and flow, with an open plan that allows each room to enjoy the lake view while ensuring the privacy needs of different generations of family members.

室内以舒适为核心，贯穿其中的是温暖的中性色调、精心挑选的家具和高质量的自然材质。墙壁和天花板的大面积木饰面带来了亲密感，而微妙的石材地面则为空间注入清凉气息。

Comfort is at the heart of the interior, which is permeated by warm neutrals, carefully selected furniture and high-quality natural materials. Large wood finishes on the walls and ceilings bring intimacy, while subtle stone floors inject cool air into the space.

厨房和起居室是家庭生活的核心，设计师通过超大的落地窗和滑动玻璃门模糊了室内外的界限，使湖泊风景成为自然装饰的一部分。同时，灵活的多功能房间设计允许家庭成员根据需要重新配置空间，无论是举办大家庭聚会还是享受安静的私人时光。

The kitchen and living room are central to home life, and the designers blur the boundaries between interior and exterior with oversized floor-to-ceiling Windows and sliding glass doors, making the lake view part of the natural decor. At the same time, the flexible multi-purpose room design allows family members to reconfigure the space as needed, whether for hosting a large family gathering or enjoying quiet private time.

Of Place Studio 注重可持续性的设计实践。The Lakehouse 使用了高效能玻璃窗和节能材料，以降低能耗，同时保留了良好的隔热性能。建筑的朝向和布局也经过精心规划，以最大限度地利用自然采光和通风。周围的景观设计则保留了原生植被，减少了对自然生态的干扰。

Of Place Studio focuses on sustainable design practices. The Lakehouse uses high-efficiency glass Windows and energy-efficient materials to reduce energy consumption while retaining good insulation. The orientation and layout of the building have also been carefully planned to maximize the use of natural light and ventilation. The surrounding landscape design retains the native vegetation and reduces the interference to the natural ecology.
