Under the Drum Tower, in the heart of Qinghefang, the Dongpo Scholars Noodle House tells stories of the old city of the southern part of Hangzhou, one bowl of noodles at a time. Hidden in the ancient alleys of Hangzhou, it quietly preserves the rhythm of a thousand years of culture. Situated on a century-old street, this noodle house is like a window, opening to endless stories of Hangzhou; each bowl of noodles, each topping, carries the unique poetry and flavor of this city.

白墙黑瓦，木花窗，没有华丽的装饰，只有最质朴的原木温润，仿佛在诉说着百年杭州的烟火气。推窗而望，纸龙悬窗与石板街景交相辉映，仿佛时光倒流，一步跨入了宋代的江南。

With white walls and black tiles, wooden flower windows, and no extravagant decorations—only the warm, simple texture of raw wood—it feels as if the essence of Hangzhou’s centuries-old vitality is being told. Pushing open the window, the paper dragon hanging in the window frames a view where it meets the stone-paved street, creating a harmonious scene that seems to transport you back in time, as if stepping into the Southern Song Dynasty.

Every design detail at Dongpo Scholars Noodle House reflects the unique charm of Hangzhou. The carefully chosen furniture enhances the atmosphere of the restaurant. Each chair is crafted from exquisite raw wood, with a smooth and warm surface that showcases the natural grain and color. These chairs not only offer a comfortable dining experience but also perfectly complement the restaurant’s overall ambiance—preserving the ancient elegance of Jiangnan while blending in modern design sensibilities. Whether enjoying a steaming bowl of noodles or listening to the storytellers recounting cultural tales, sitting in one of these chairs offers a special sense of tranquility and joy.

Through the act of eating, we are all reminded of the impermanence and emptiness in this ever-changing world, experiencing the rise and fall of life and the flow of time.

设计创新性地以“修旧如旧”为原则，在保留老建筑木结构次序美的基础上，通过墙面半高木瓦屋檐消解建筑逼仄感，增设阳台打造“独倚望江楼”的诗意场景，一层通过玄关引导人流、半透和纸隔断优化采光与视野，二层以木雕花开窗实现“一步一景”，既满足用餐舒适度，又让空间动线流畅有序；深度挖掘地域文化，白墙黛瓦的中式形制、回收木瓦等原生材质与杭帮面文化呼应，光影透过窗棂洒落形成的树影婆娑之景，尊重建筑原有肌理，选用木地板、风化木板等环保材料，同时通过空间设计让室内外景观相互渗透，构建出与杭州城山水诗意相融的友好型餐饮空间。
