In the fast-paced pulse of modern cities, there is a growing desire for tranquility, greenery, and genuine breathing. The spatial design perfectly interprets the brand’s core, using the logic of architectural structure to create a vibrant ‘living’ scene.
Living in a jungle of steel and concrete, the soul instinctively longs for the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, the scent of grass and trees carried by the breeze, and the vitality that comes from the earth. This longing is no longer just a gaze out the window; it is an urgent desire to bring a sense of ‘wildness’ into everyday life, allowing it to grow within the spaces we can touch.
Before and after the renovation
Building with an architectural mindset
The void area and the staggered dining area connected by steps create both vertical and horizontal visual extensions. The experience is shaped through clear structural layers and circulation planning, constructing a dynamic and rhythmic three-dimensional scene. At the same time, the combination of half-height partitions and greenery forms a structural framework for the space, creating a composite experience area full of vitality and a sense of exploration.
The staggered dining area
The ceiling uses a full light panel design, allowing light to spread evenly and softly throughout the space, creating delicate layers of light and shadow on the micro-cement walls and natural wood finishes, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Like the ultimate imitation of natural light, it creates a bright and transparent visual depth, interacting with the greenery and building an immersive space full of vitality within a limited area.
Space full of vitality within a limited area
Architectural design thinking dominates the composition of interior volumes. The staggered booth areas are realized through stepped platforms and partial double-height spaces, creating a rich and dynamic spatial hierarchy and vertical profile. This sense of alternating heights, akin to the natural undulations of mountains, breaks the monotony of homogeneous space and provides a rhythm of tension and release for both sightlines and circulation paths.
The composition of interior volumes
The design of the natural landscape does not exist in isolation but is deeply integrated with the architectural structure. Plants spread from crevices or grow densely in recessed planters in lower areas, and their natural growth forms create a textural dialogue with the water-washed stone walls that mimic natural textures and exposed iron structural beams. Light filtered through the plants casts dappled shadows of varying intensity across the uneven platforms, further enhancing the unrefined, immersive wild feeling, as if one were in a forested terrace.

The Wild Aesthetic of Natural ‘Fermentation’
The rugged wrought iron framework and hollowed iron mesh are used for partitions, stair railings, and lamp frames. Their lines outline a clear structural contour in the space, creating a visually dynamic rhythm.
The indoor environment is organically integrated with climbing equipment and baking functions. The open layout combined with high ceilings creates a sense of vertical visual extension. The austere materials do not conflict with nature; instead, they serve as a perfect backdrop to highlight life. The soft greenery contrasts with the sturdy iron lines, creating a balance of softness and hardness; light passing through the gaps in the ironwork casts shadows on the floor resembling leaf silhouettes, achieving a secondary creation of light and shadow, harmonizing the subtle textures of the ironwork with the rough surfaces through material juxtaposition.
Vertical visual extension
These gently curved walls are not traditional enclosed partitions, but serve as mediums for guiding the space and allowing visual permeability. They are freely dispersed throughout the hall, like boulders or mounds naturally scattered in a forest, creating multiple semi-enclosed seating units within the open area. This design ensures relative privacy for each zone while maintaining the flow and sense of openness throughout the overall space.
Space is no longer just a container for plants
The tall green tree that stretches through the first and second floors is undoubtedly the spiritual core and vertical axis of the entire space. The designer has also created partial double-height spaces and setbacks, actively ‘yielding’ dedicated vertical growth chambers for the tree, allowing its branches and leaves to freely extend between the two floors, creating a striking visual double-height effect.
Green tree stretches through floors
This completely breaks the physical and visual barriers imposed by the floor slabs, allowing the upper and lower spaces to seamlessly connect through the vitality of the plant. The circular circulation path around the tree, along with viewing seats set at different heights, enables customers to immerse themselves in this indoor forest from multiple perspectives. The essence of the wild feeling is thus revealed: Space is an organism that grows together with plants and shapes each other.
Plants are not only decorative but also key elements for soft partitioning and creating atmosphere. Tall green plants stand along the windows, forming a natural ‘screen’, while low potted plants are placed at the junctions of countertops and steps, blurring the boundaries of the space. Through the interplay of lighting and plants, a serene and flowing light-and-shadow ambiance is created. When light passes over, delicate gradations of curved shadows emerge, echoing the forms of the freely growing greenery in the space.
Plants as natural ‘screen’
By harmoniously integrating the structural aspects of the architecture, the functional comfort of the interior, and the vitality of nature, it provides a multi-space experience ranging from public to private, from open to enclosed. Here, ‘wild’ does not mean chaotic; rather, it represents a highly refined spatial narrative full of shelter and life.
Multi-space experience open to enclosed
Exploring the deep connections of ecological integration
On the second floor, the designer made full use of the vertical interface’s lighting advantage, incorporating full-height panoramic windows and continuous horizontal window bands to bring the natural greenery from outdoors into the interior without obstruction, maximizing the landscape view. This maximized window design is not only for lighting but also to create a deep relationship of ‘borrowing scenery.’ Natural light penetrates the glass, moving slowly across the rough walls and raw wooden surfaces, forming a light-and-shadow theater that changes over time.
Nearly invisible, ultra-narrow window frames further dissolve the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces, visually connecting distant trees with nearby greenery and extending the depth of the space. The brand logo is cleverly deconstructed and translated into spatial language: its flowing curves are transformed into wall light designs, creating a consistent design motif throughout.
Carefully selected ferns and mosses are placed in the gaps, their free-form shapes echoing the rough texture of the painted walls, enhancing an uninhibited sense of nature. The entire space, through contrasting materials, light penetration, and circulation guidance, transforms the natural philosophy of food fermentation into an immersive spatial experience.
Light, filtered through the leaves, becomes soft, creating a delicate contrast of textures and layers of light and shadow between the rough wooden grids and smooth metal components. Over time, the path of light slowly moves through the space, offering customers a continuously changing visual experience and a sense of tranquil time, truly achieving a poetic fusion of light, plants, and human activity.
Contemporary spatial design is quietly responding to this innate need for nature. It no longer settles for symbolic adornments of nature but strives to create a deeply integrated ecological relationship. Like a careful mediator, it regards light, wind, plants, and natural materials as its basic language, weaving within the framework of architecture a new kind of “interior landscape” that can be both lived in and explored. Through spatial storytelling, every structure and detail becomes a medium for dialogue between humans and nature, reclaiming a sense of lost tranquility and vitality.
