Greenwich Village Duplex, located in New York Citys Greenwich Village, is Grisoro Studio founder Gabriela Garganos exquisite pied-a-terre for a young family living in London. Located in a historic former hotel building, this apartment not only demonstrates a simple and economical design philosophy, but also highlights the unique charm of vintage and collectibles.

Dating back to the 1850s, the building has undergone multiple transformations from rowhouses to hotels to apartments, and has attracted notable visitors including Mark Twain and Andy Warhol. Today, the building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been revitalized by Grisoro Studio. The apartment is located on the upper floors of the building and has a spectacular downtown view, giving it a distinct New York feel.

Garganos design language is based on minimalism, adding warmth and depth to Spaces through the use of rich materials such as vintage wood, marble, bronzed metal and soft organic fabrics. In the kitchen, for example, the bold contrast of Calacatta viola marble and forest green cabinetry is dramatic and vibrant. The bathroom features deep aubergine walls and classical checkerboard floors for a sense of drama and fun.

The furniture selection is full of character and taste, combining art Deco, medieval and modern elements. For example, Hans Wegners AT305 desk, Amy Meiers Bauhaus-inspired lamp, and the Diagolo chair by Afra and Tobia Scarpa inject a unique sense of history and modernity into the space. The owners love of antiques is also reflected in every detail, and these carefully selected furniture pieces are in perfect harmony with the architectural style.

As part of a high-rise building in the heart of Manhattan, panoramic views of iconic landmarks can be enjoyed from the terrace, while outdoor showers add unique interest to the living experience.
