Its design concept retells a classic Italian fable about a coyote exploring the city alone. Parts and Labors design intent centers on connecting the forest to the metropolis. Huge windows and dappled sunlight carpet the 12-foot-high space, bringing the outdoors inside. Fluted walnut panels echo the hundreds of trees in nearby Madison Square Park, as do forest-colored walls and custom parquet floors. From the window seats, natural light streams in through thin linen curtains.Rosa Alicante marble, a soft red Italian stone with white and gray streaks, adorns Lupettos surfaces.

The real heart and soul is the wood-fired pizza oven, located just behind a fully customized bar. The open kitchen encourages guests to gather and watch the pizzas bake Neapolitan style. It also emphasizes the Italian concept of sharing plates and getting together.Lupetto gave the ironing area more of what it deserves: a space where the community feels ownership.

Located underneath Lupettos restaurant, Sotto is a subterranean amaro bar that draws guests to another time and place, yet delights in the moment. Founder Mark Baraks design concept is vacation madness.

Continuing Lupettos story of a coyotes growth as he matures and explores freedom, Sotto sets the scene in a stairwell, groomed with brass coyote paw prints in celebration of the fruits of the forest, with little touches of low-light, pink, and gold around every corner. The vibe here is unapologetically sexy.
