Hugo Toro is an architectural designer from eastern France with dual Mexican and French citizenship. Currently, he leads a firm of nearly two dozen employees whose projects include restaurants in Paris, London and Dubai, hotels in Rome and Cannes, apartments and private mansions in the Paris area. At a young age, Hugo Toro was keen to build, invent and pay attention to decorative details and engineering equipment, and his style was shaped by influences from both sides of the Atlantic as well as South America.
A relic of the Gilded Age, the historic five-story building has been home to the Cultural section of the French Embassy in the United States since the 1950s. In 2022, the project worked with the National Motel to redesign and restore the fifth floor of the landmark building, transforming it into a studio for artists and writers to host private dinners, conferences or small receptions. Hugo Toro has rendered the entire space in deep red and gold, interpreting the gilded aesthetic of the building in a contemporary way.

的重新设计,细节构造成为设计的关键。室内采用大胆的基调,而三种截然不同的木材彼此间形成了鲜明对比,并占据着住宅的中心。室内大部分家具来源于定制,并使用了他新推出的“
This apartment was built in France in the 1960-70s, adjacent to the Buttes-Chaumont Park, and was redesigned by Hugo Toro, with detailed construction being key to the design. The interior has a bold tone, while three distinct types of wood stand in stark contrast to each other and occupy the centre of the house. Most of the furniture in the interior is custom made, and the space is embellished with red cave stone elements from his new Amanecer collection.
Located in the heart of Saint-Ger-Mandelpe, the Saints-Peres apartment is a tribute to natural stone, enhanced by its dramatic volume and classical charm. Hugo Toro infused the atmosphere of the past with contemporary life by incorporating decorative elements such as 19th-century stained glass Windows, a huge travertine fireplace in the dining room, four rotating carved screens in the living room, and different shades of marble in the kitchen and bathroom. In addition, the mix of leather, wood, brass and rounded furniture design opens up a wonderful journey of discovery.
