Sarah Sherman Samuel is a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2014 by designer Sarah Sherman Samuel, with a focus on interior, architecture, art and product design. Its design works pursue authentic expression, accurate but not artificial, simple yet delicate, rigorous structure but whimsical, just like the natural face of the general.

Drawing on contemporary architectural styles, including those of Mexico Citys Miguel Hidalgo neighborhood, and Tadao Andos theory of critical regionalism, the house aims to connect with the outdoors and create a multi-level space where classical and modern sensibilities interweave. The interior facade is covered with a lime-water finish that minimizes glare during the day and increases warm reflection at night. At the same time, it continues the eclectic spirit and harmonizes antique furniture, modern furniture and decorations.

A new project by Sarah Sherman Samuel, it took two years to complete, creating a unique warm atmosphere for the house without any architectural details. The interior uses stone, wood and other materials as much as possible to create a natural sense, and chooses a surface treatment that can produce a bronzed luster over time, which is conducive to giving the house traces of time in the future.

住宅室内采用了温暖的中性色与赭石色作为基调，几何壁挂和阳光充足的内部十足的引人注目，也塑造了一个满足家庭日常生活和休闲娱乐的空间。圆形天窗是建筑结构上为数不多的细节，混凝土浇筑的嵌入式内龛陈列着设计书籍和物品，一个超现代的白色螺旋楼梯可通向阁楼之上的阅读区。

The warm neutrals and ochre tones of the interior, the geometric wall hangings and the sunny interior are striking, creating a space for family life and recreation. Circular skylights are the few structural details, recessed niches in concrete hold design books and objects, and an ultra-modern white spiral staircase leads to a reading area above the loft.

To keep the story going, Sarah Sherman Samuel takes a holistic approach to construction that covers every detail of the spaces design. From the siting of new buildings to the design of textiles, from the restoration of 200-year-old monuments to the design of bespoke furniture, from bespoke recessed furniture to wallpaper, she applies a similar narrative philosophy to her business projects.
