In Cumbayá Valley, in an area of ​​1200 m2, we are commissioned the design of a house for a family of 4. One of the client's requirements was to keep an existing building of approximately 80 m2 and incorporate it as part of the new house to be built.

The starting point of the project begins with the understanding and analysis of locating the house on the plot:

1 - The first volume will contain the social program of the house and will serve as an axis to mark the entrance to it.

2 - The second volume upstairs sits perpendicular to the site, thus directing the views to the valley and a nearby park. It contains the family and bedroom areas.

3 - Finally, a third volume corresponding to the existing construction and serving as a second support for the volume above. It contains a multipurpose living room space, and an office / study independent from other areas of the house.

The composition of volumes, in addition to zoning a clearly defined program, optimizes garden areas and generates circulation and intermediate outdoor spaces (plaza, porch, garden) that are characterized by a rich and diverse spatiality.

The two points on the ground floor that support the upper volume generate a bridge that forms the porch and connects the indoor and outdoor spaces. The volumetric clarity is also emphasized with the use and contrast of two colors and textures.
