he Calf & Bloom café, situated on the ground floorof the ‘Kalvertoren’ shopping centre, connects theend of the Kalverstraat with the Singel canal, by theBloemenmarkt (flower market). The owner ofCalf & Bloom approached concrete to develop a newtotal concept for the former Replay café. In additionto a new interior design, the name, menu andgraphics were also changed. The new nameCalf & Bloom has an international character, while alsoreferring the location of the café in  location of Calf & Bloom, situated between twostreets looking out on the Bloemenmarkt and theexisting brick facade on the inside, create a sense ofa hidden square. To enhance this feel, a new secondouter ‘fa?ade’ was added that connects the twoentrances in a winding line. Raw steel frames withlight panels and louvers create a dynamic wall thatseparates the front of house and back of house, andincludes a variety of functions by serving as a menuboard, newspaper display, and chalkboard.
