A renovated loft residence located in the West Village of New York, under the reconfiguration by interior designers Christine Gachot and John Gachot, presents a warm, quiet and restrained living atmosphere. The originally rough concrete space was reorganized by the two designers in terms of scale, materials and lighting, achieving a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. Situated on Perry Street, which is renowned for its 20th-century row houses, and located on the same street as Carrie Bradshaws apartment in Sex and the City, this unique location adds a cultural flavor that lies between tradition and modernity to the residence.

屋主是一位金融从业者，将这套约241平方米的公寓视为送给自己的重要生日礼物，也是多年寻觅理想居所后的圆满落点。正如克里斯汀·加肖特（Christine Gachot）所说，委托人追求的是舒适、耐用与平静，希望在保留原建筑风貌的基础上，让空间更具温度。设计团队因此重新组织原本开阔的开放式格局，调整为两卧两卫，使每个区域都能回应日常生活的实际需求。

The homeowner is a financial professional. This apartment, measuring approximately 241 square meters, is regarded by him as an important birthday gift and a perfect conclusion to his years of searching for the ideal residence. As Christine Gachot said, the client was seeking comfort, durability and tranquility. He hoped to retain the original architectural style while making the space more inviting. Therefore, the design team reorganized the originally open layout, adjusting it to two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that each area could respond to the actual needs of daily life.

受限于现有结构高度，团队选择将电气系统巧妙隐藏在天花内，同时保留部分原始梁柱，让这些元素成为连接建筑历史的视觉线索。杂乱的管线被彻底清理后，空间呈现出更加干净有序的表情，摆脱了工业风的凌厉感。黑框落地窗为客厅带来充足自然光，而其余区域则采用更柔和的光线，强化材质的细腻变化。栗色木饰面贯穿全屋，与浅粉、米色等柔和色调形成舒适的平衡。

Due to the current structural height limitations, the team chose to ingeniously hide the electrical system within the ceiling, while retaining some of the original beams and columns, making these elements visual clues connecting the architectural history. After clearing the messy pipelines completely, the space presents a cleaner and more orderly appearance, getting rid of the harshness of the industrial style. The black-framed floor-to-ceiling windows bring abundant natural light to the living room, while the other areas adopt softer lighting to enhance the subtle changes in materials. The brown wood finish runs throughout the entire house, creating a comfortable balance with the soft tones of light pink, beige, and others.

整体设计在克制与丰富之间保持流畅节奏。灯芯绒抱枕、编织地毯与柔软披毯为空间注入触感层次；主浴室的大理石地面与浴缸则展现出安静而精致的奢华。在所有区域中，加肖特最钟爱的依然是客厅，光线通透、梁柱可见、壁炉点缀，使其成为这处住宅情感归属与日常生活都能自然落脚的核心所在。

The overall design maintains a smooth rhythm between restraint and richness. The corduroy throw pillows, woven carpets and soft blankets add tactile layers to the space; the marble floor and bathtub in the main bathroom showcase a quiet and refined luxury. Among all the areas, Gaxots favorite remains the living room, with its transparent lighting, visible beams and fireplaces, making it the core where the emotional connection and daily life of this residence can naturally take place.
