Ostend Seaside Apartment 位于比利时海滨城市奥斯坦德，由比利时建筑师 Arjaan De Feyter 精心改造，旨在为一对母女重新定义她们心爱的度假住所。这一项目并未延续原始布局的逻辑，而是彻底重构空间，通过对功能与美学的再思考，为典型的海滨住宅带来了新的可能性。

Ostend Seaside Apartment is located in the Belgian coastal city of Ostend. It was elaborately renovated by Belgian architect Arjaan De Feyter, aiming to redefine the beloved vacation residence for a mother and daughter. This project does not follow the logic of the original layout but completely reconstructs the space. Through rethinking of function and aesthetics, it brings new possibilities to typical seaside residences.

项目最大的特征是其对“多功能性”与“连续性”的强调。De Feyter 拆除了传统入口大厅的分隔，使访客一进入公寓即置身于开放的用餐区。这一设计选择打破了典型的空间过渡逻辑，转而引导空间围绕起居、餐饮与厨房的整合展开。厨房设计不设岛台，也无独立隔断，细木工艺从厨房延伸至客厅，使整个生活区域形成视觉与功能上的一体感。

The most distinctive feature of the project is its emphasis on multi-functionality and continuity. De Feyter removed the partition of the traditional entrance hall, allowing visitors to find themselves in the open dining area as soon as they enter the apartment. This design choice breaks the typical spatial transition logic and instead guides the space to develop around the integration of living, dining and kitchen. The kitchen design does not feature an island counter or independent partitions. The fine wood craftsmanship extends from the kitchen to the living room, creating a visual and functional unity throughout the entire living area.

设计师通过精致的调色语言回应了海滨环境的气质。浅色地板、墙壁与天花板为整体营造出通透、轻盈的氛围，仿佛与窗外的海滩风景相互映照。与之形成对比的是厨房中 café au lait 色调的大理石台面与贯穿公寓的深色木质镶板，使空间在视觉层次上更为丰富且具有温润质感。De Feyter 通过将门扇与电器巧妙地隐藏于墙面木饰中，消解了功能元素在视觉上的突兀存在，进一步强化了空间的宁静氛围。

The designer responded to the temperament of the seaside environment through exquisite color-matching language. The light-colored floor, walls and ceiling create a transparent and light atmosphere for the whole, as if reflecting the beach scenery outside the window. In contrast, the cafe au Lait-toned marble countertop in the kitchen and the dark wooden panels throughout the apartment make the space more visually rich and have a warm texture. By ingeniously hiding the door panels and electrical appliances within the wall wood veneer, De Feyter eliminates the abrupt visual presence of functional elements and further enhances the serene atmosphere of the space.

Ostend Seaside Apartment is a typical space reconfiguration practice. The designer starts from the usage needs of the residents and responds to the site context with delicate design language, transforming an ordinary seaside apartment into a living place with contemporary expression.
