Susana Simonpietri, principal and designer of Chango-Co, and her husband, Josh Kay, didnt think this new Brooklyn townhouse was impressive when they first saw it, but after a challenging renovation, the building transformed into a bright, subdued family home. Its a wonderful day for a family of four.

翻新前，这座住宅被黑色的金属和深色木饰面包裹，冷峻而硬朗，沉重又缺乏亲和力。对于Susana Simonpietri和她的丈夫Josh Kay而言，首先要做的是让入口变得更具仪式感。所以他们将地板重新打磨成浅色调，并用弧形橡木扶手取代冰冷的玻璃与黑钢楼梯围栏，使空间的过渡变得更为柔软。

efore the renovation, the house was wrapped in black metal and dark wood finishes, cold and hard, heavy and lacking in affinity. For Susana Simonpietri and her husband Josh Kay, the first order of business was to make the entrance more ceremonial. So they repolished the floor to a lighter tone and replaced the cold glass and black steel stair fences with curved oak handrails to make the transition softer.

he living room, the most important shared space in the home, features a large area of pastel colors and a collection of artists designs, such as a textile by Mimi Jung hanging over the fireplace, a sculpture by Jacob Hashimoto, And Antonio Maros painting next to Isamu Noguchis hanging AKARI paper lamp sculpture.

一对来自法国的复古木椅创造了一个次要的座位区，其间挂了一件津巴布韦艺术家Moffat Takadiwa的作品，它看起来像是一幅挂毯，实际是用垃圾品编织而成，这些艺术品在静谧的空间里注入了艺术的氛围。

A pair of vintage wooden chairs from France create a secondary seating area with a piece by Zimbabwean artist Moffat Takadiwa, which looks like a tapestry but is actually woven from junk, infusing the quiet space with an artistic atmosphere.

厅区延续了住宅整体的简约和温润之感，Hans Wegner设计的复古餐椅围绕着一张洞石餐桌展开，旁边摆放由Noguchi设计的经典落地灯。墙上悬挂着一幅由Ximena Mandiola创作的艺术品，以点状构图呈现出低调而富有韵律的视觉张力。

he dining area continues the simplicity and warmth of the house, with vintage dining chairs by Hans Wegner set around a cave-stone dining table, alongside classic floor lamps by Noguchi. Hanging on the wall is a piece of art by Ximena Mandiola, which presents an understated yet rhythmic visual tension in a point-like composition.

厨房原有的不锈钢台面被换成了洞石台面，立面和天花的混凝土经过三步工艺重新粉刷，以去除原本不合适的棕色基底，使其呈现出温润的质地。由Anthony Dickens设计的Tekiò Horizontal P4吊灯悬挂于岛台上方，满足功能需求，又增添一丝当代优雅。

he kitchens original stainless steel countertops were replaced with cave stone countertops, and the concrete of the facade and ceiling was repainted in a three-step process to remove the inappropriate brown base and give it a warm texture. Hanging above the island, the Tekio Horizontal P4 chandelier, designed by Anthony Dickens, meets a functional need and adds a touch of contemporary elegance.

he master bedroom is consistent with Susana Simonpietris philosophy of reducing visual stimuli and creating an understated and comfortable sanctuary. A sketch by Pablo Siquier hangs above the bed, and a vintage armchair by Nino Zoncada is placed beside the bed, where the blend of wood and fabric infuses the space with a warm touch.

儿Lola的房间则选用Chango x Chasing Paper设计的墙纸，搭配着由Patricia Urquiola为意大利玻璃公司设计的Glas Italia边桌，床头上方安置了一个拼写出Lola名字的定制霓虹灯，使其成为独特的空间亮点。

Lolas room features Chango x Chasing Paper wallpaper, a Glas Italia side table designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Italian glass company, and a custom-made neon sign spelling out Lolas name above the bed. Make it a unique space highlight.

童房舍弃主卧的克制美学，而运用大胆的色彩和图案。儿子Oliver的房间采用网格状壁纸，并设计了一张受俄罗斯方块启发的定制床，上面铺着霓虹黄色的皮革，有利于增加空间趣味，也方便父母夜晚陪伴。

he childrens room abandons the master bedrooms restrained aesthetic in favor of bold colors and patterns. Son Olivers room features gridded wallpaper and a custom Tetris-inspired bed covered in neon yellow leather, which adds interest to the space and makes it easier for parents to spend the evening together.

地下室被改造成多功能娱乐室，内部配置黄色的组合式家具和彩色的枕头，墙面铺设着毛毡圆点装饰，使空间变得有趣。一个迪斯科球被悬挂于空间中央，可旋转的光影赋予空间青春动力。

he basement is transformed into a multi-purpose recreation room with yellow modular furniture and colorful pillows, and the walls are decorated with felt polka dots to make the space interesting. A disco ball is suspended in the center of the space, and the rotating light and shadow give the space youthful power.

屋顶露台偏向简约轻盈，宽敞的座椅区可远眺东河与威廉斯堡大桥，都市景观与家居氛围完美融合。在Susana Simonpietri看来，家的温度不仅来自色彩和材质，真正的个性体现在随时间沉淀的艺术、手工艺品、家居物件之中，它们让空间充满活力。如今，这栋曾经有着距离感的联排别墅，已然成为一个充满阳光、温暖且具有艺术气息的家。

he roof terrace leans toward simplicity and lightness, and the spacious seating area overlooks the East River and Williamsburg Bridge, creating a perfect blend of urban landscape and home atmosphere. For Susana Simonpietri, the temperature of a home comes not only from the colors and materials, but the real personality is found in the art, crafts and household objects that settle over time, which animate the space. Today, this once distant townhouse is a sunny, warm and artistic home.
