Joe Design Studio is an interior design studio based in Antwerp, Belgium, founded in 2020 by designer Jody. Through the use and coordination of natural materials, the studio hopes to meet the individual needs of the client, and their innovative design thinking combined with ingenuity, to create a comfortable and unique atmosphere for different projects.

Louis Kahn: Today, architects have forgotten their faith in natural light when they plan rooms. They are satisfied with static light and forget the ever-changing nature of natural light, where a room is a different room every moment. Jody was deeply inspired by this passage. In this apartment, natural light changes with the time of day, casting a rich light and shadow, as if the space is free to play.

For this private house in Edegem, Belgium, Joe Design Studio has adopted a warm minimalist tone that makes it a peaceful beauty in its purest form. And the theme of the sea throughout, while the selection of artworks that match the ocean, each other. The combination of all the carefully matched and elegant furniture creates rich details for the house and also becomes the highlight of the space.

为了保持橡木纹理的完整性，使其触感更加柔和，地板均经过手工处理之后再涂抹一层细腻的蜡光。厨房内独特的地板与定制的壁橱和镶板相融合，在米色和烟熏橡木之间形成对比。烟熏橡木制作的书桌将两个独立的空间连接起来，使空间变得更加宽敞。卫生间内则采用米色的一体水槽，与房间的局部深色互为映衬。

In order to maintain the integrity of the oak texture and make it feel softer, the floors are hand-treated and then coated with a fine wax finish. Unique flooring in the kitchen blends with custom closets and paneling, creating a contrast between beige and smoky oak. A desk made of smoked oak connects the two separate Spaces, making the space even more spacious. In the bathroom, a beige integrated sink is used, which is set off against the local dark color of the room.

After graduating with a Masters degree in interior Architecture from KU Leuven, Jody gained extensive practical experience as an interior architect or designer in various companies before setting up Joe Design Studio. He is currently leading the studio to provide clients with a full range of design services from design conception to project landing, aiming to create a modern and timeless environment for them, and the pursuit of precise detail expression.
