Even from the outside, its easy to imagine Jay Gatsby hosting soirées at this Denver home. With an easy Art Deco elegance, the filigree wrought-iron balconettes, the ornately carved limestone frieze framing the front door, and the formal front steps all conjure images of limousines rolling up for a night of cocktails and dancing. It comes as no surprise, then, to learn that the interior was indeed inspired by F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a novel steeped in decadent glamour.

Decorated entirely in grey, taupe, white and bleached oak, this Washington home takes Nordic farmhouse style and gives it a casual, West-Coast twist.

Stantons response to this minimalist design was to create a “warm and soothing Pacific Northwest-inspired Scandinavian barn” featuring streamlined furniture and natural finishes. The homeowners desired a space that was both timelessly classic and cleanly modern.
