The New Classic Residence

新经典住宅（The New Classic Residence）由设计团队STUDIO JOS主导完成，坐落于悉尼东部海滨的沃克吕兹（Vaucluse）。项目以既有现代主义建筑为基础，通过对空间语言的再组织与材料系统的精细调配，展开一场关于“新古典”语境的当代表达。设计并未简单叠加风格元素，而是以“非对称的平衡”为策略，构建经典秩序与现代结构之间的张力关系。

The New Classic Residence was designed by the design team STUDIO JOS and is located in Vaucluse, on the eastern coast of Sydney. The project is based on the existing modernist architecture and, through the reorganization of spatial language and the meticulous allocation of material systems, explores a contemporary expression within the context of neo-classicism. The design does not simply superimpose style elements; instead, it adopts the strategy of asymmetric balance to create a tension relationship between the classic order and the modern structure.

在空间构成上，设计团队有意识地对传统语汇进行拆解与重组。古典线脚、比例与细部不再作为符号化装饰，而是被转译为一种可参与空间叙事的结构逻辑。墙面、天花与家具之间形成连续而层叠的界面关系，使空间呈现出介于秩序与流动之间的复合状态。这种处理方式有效削弱了风格标签的边界，使室内更趋向一种跨时空的综合色彩。

In terms of spatial composition, the design team consciously disassembled and reorganized traditional elements. Classical moldings, proportions, and details no longer served as symbolic decorations but were transformed into a structural logic that could participate in the narrative of the space. The interfaces between walls, ceilings, and furniture form a continuous and layered relationship, giving the space a composite state that lies between order and fluidity. This approach effectively weakened the boundaries of style labels, making the interior more inclined towards a cross-temporal comprehensive color.

材料策略方面，项目强调“时间性”的营造。天然石材、木饰面与织物等经典材料被置于当代语境中，通过肌理与色调的微妙对比，形成视觉上的深度与温度。同时，现代元素以“嵌入”的方式介入，如极简灯具与定制家具，与传统轮廓形成对话而非对立。这种新旧并置不仅增强了空间层次，也使居住体验更具感知维度。

In terms of material strategy, the project emphasizes the creation of a sense of timeliness. Classic materials such as natural stone, wood veneer, and textiles are placed in a contemporary context. Through subtle contrasts in texture and color, a visual depth and warmth are achieved. At the same time, modern elements are incorporated in an embedded manner, such as minimalist lighting fixtures and custom furniture, creating a dialogue rather than opposition with traditional contours. This juxtaposition of old and new not only enhances the spatial hierarchy but also enriches the perceptual dimension of the living experience.

整体空间氛围趋向内敛与沉静，每一处细节均经过精确控制，以实现视觉与触觉的双重平衡。设计强调“被时间收集”的意象，使室内陈设呈现出渐进生成的状态，而非一次性完成的展示。这种方法在当代住宅设计中提供了一种新的路径，即通过弱化风格边界与强化体验连续性，重塑居住空间的文化深度与精神质感。

The overall atmosphere of the space tends to be restrained and serene. Every detail has been precisely controlled to achieve a dual balance between vision and touch. The design emphasizes the imagery of being collected by time, making the interior furnishings present a state of gradual generation rather than a one-time completed display. This approach provides a new path in contemporary residential design, that is, by weakening style boundaries and strengthening the continuity of experience, to reshape the cultural depth and spiritual texture of the living space.
