墨尔本北区 Northcote，一栋建于20世纪20年代的木板平房，在一次克制而富有情感的翻新中重新焕发生机。室内装饰师劳伦·伊根（Lauren Egan）与商业摄影师格伦·赫斯特（Glenn Hester）选择留在熟悉的街区，把注意力重新投向这块长期被忽视的土地，以及其内在的秩序与潜力。

In Northcote, a northern suburb of Melbourne, a wooden bungalow built in the 1920s has been rejuvenated through a restrained yet emotionally charged renovation. Interior decorator Lauren Egan and commercial photographer Glenn Hester chose to remain in their familiar neighborhood, refocusing their attention on this long-neglected land and its inherent order and potential.

项目由 Project 12 Architecture主导，改造几乎回溯至建筑的结构本身。在尊重原有平面逻辑的前提下，公共空间被移至住宅后部，并以一座砖砌扩建体承载新的起居区与主卧空间。整体布局向北展开，使自然光得以沿住宅侧向深入室内，营造出安静、节能且与气候相适应的居住体验。

The project was led by Project 12 Architecture, with the renovation almost reaching back to the buildings structure itself. Under the premise of respecting the original floor plan logic, the public space was moved to the rear of the residence, and a brick extension was built to accommodate the new living area and the master bedroom. The overall layout spreads out to the north, allowing natural light to penetrate the house laterally, creating a quiet, energy-efficient and climate-adaptive living experience.

建筑语言在新旧之间取得微妙平衡，斑点桉木饰面、瓷砖台面与细腻的材质肌理，回应了20世纪初住宅的装饰传统，同时又以当代的比例与构造细节重新演绎。室内色彩成为空间情绪的重要线索，厨房以酒红色、粉色洞石与温暖的米色构成近乎“烘焙感”的色谱，强化了家的核心与聚合属性；而隐藏在旋转木门后的主卧，则以浓郁的赭色地毯与天鹅绒窗帘，营造出私密而略带戏剧性的氛围。

The architectural language strikes a delicate balance between the old and the new. The spotted eucalyptus wood veneer, tiled countertops and the fine texture of the materials respond to the decorative traditions of early 20th-century residences, while being reinterpreted with contemporary proportions and construction details. The interior color palette serves as an important clue to the spatial mood. The kitchen, with its wine red, pink travertine and warm beige tones, creates a nearly baking color spectrum, reinforcing the core and gathering attributes of the home; while the master bedroom, hidden behind a rotating wooden door, is furnished with a rich ochre carpet and velvet curtains, creating a private and slightly dramatic atmosphere.

住宅前部保留下来的原始房间，则以深浅变化的绿色调加以处理，为整体偏向秋意色系的公共空间带来清新的呼吸节奏。对劳伦而言，这次改造并非追求某种理想化的完美设计，而是当下生活感知与经验的自然延伸，一种让人一踏入空间，便能慢慢放松下来，身心舒畅愉悦的状态。

The original rooms at the front of the residence were treated with a gradient of green tones, creating a refreshing rhythm for the overall public space that leans towards autumn tones. For Lauren, this renovation was not about pursuing some idealized perfect design, but rather a natural extension of current life perception and experience, a state where one can gradually relax and feel physically and mentally at ease and happy as soon as they step into the space.
