甘比特阁楼住宅（Gambit Loft）位于悉尼派蒙特一座历史悠久的羊毛仓遗产建筑内，由 Folk Studio 主导完成更新设计。项目以克制而清晰的设计态度，回应工业遗产空间与当代长期居住需求之间的关系。裸露的砖墙、清水混凝土柱以及高挑的层高，共同构成了鲜明而不可忽视的工业背景，也为后续的设计介入奠定了明确基调。

The Gambit Loft is located in a historic wool warehouse heritage building in Pyrmont, Sydney. The renovation design was led by Folk Studio. The project responds to the relationship between industrial heritage spaces and contemporary long-term living needs with a restrained and clear design attitude. Exposed brick walls, fair-faced concrete columns, and high ceilings together form a distinct and unignorable industrial backdrop, setting a clear tone for subsequent design interventions.

在改造策略上，设计团队并未试图以新的装饰覆盖历史痕迹，而是选择回溯空间本身的原始状态，仅保留地板、砖墙与混凝土柱等核心结构元素，并在此基础上重新梳理空间秩序。原本将客厅割裂的阳光房被整体拆除，公共区域由此恢复为完整而开阔的格局，动线关系也变得更加流畅从容。相比之下，主卧通过新建墙体明确空间边界，在提升私密性的同时，将储物与电视功能整合进墙体系统之中，使功能需求自然融入整体设计。

In terms of the renovation strategy, the design team did not attempt to cover the historical traces with new decorations. Instead, they chose to trace back to the original state of the space, retaining only the core structural elements such as the floor, brick walls and concrete columns, and reorganized the spatial order on this basis. The sunroom that originally divided the living room was completely demolished, restoring the public area to a complete and open layout, and making the movement lines more smooth and comfortable. In contrast, the master bedroom clearly defined the spatial boundaries by building new walls, enhancing privacy while integrating storage and TV functions into the wall system, allowing functional requirements to naturally blend into the overall design.

材料选择成为平衡工业气质与居住舒适度的重要手段。温润的木材、带有柔和色调的天然粉色石材、水磨石以及陶土色瓷砖被有意识地引入室内，用以缓和原有结构的冷峻感受。这些材质并非简单叠加，而是在厨房岛台与家具细部中形成呼应，通过色彩与纹理的重复与变化，建立起克制而稳定的视觉秩序。

Material selection has become an important means to balance the industrial atmosphere and the comfort of living. Warm wood, natural pink stone with soft tones, terrazzo and terracotta tiles are consciously introduced into the interior to mitigate the cold impression of the original structure. These materials are not simply superimposed but form echoes in the kitchen island and furniture details. Through the repetition and variation of colors and textures, a restrained and stable visual order is established.

自然光的引入同样构成设计的重要线索。亚麻窗帘与轻薄纱帘在过滤街道绿意的同时，保留了光线的层次变化，使整体色调偏深的室内空间依然保持轻盈与呼吸感。Folk Studio 联合创始人兼设计总监 Mariah Burton 将项目目标概括为“一种如精品酒店般温暖，却不失轻盈的居住体验”。在这一理念下，公共区域以柔和的曲线回应工业结构中大量存在的直线与硬边，圆形餐桌、卡座与沙发共同营造出松弛而节制的空间氛围。

The introduction of natural light also serves as an important design clue. The linen curtains and lightweight sheer curtains filter the greenery of the street while retaining the layering of light, allowing the overall dark-toned interior space to maintain a light and airy feel. Mariah Burton, the co-founder and design director of Folk Studio, summarized the project goal as a warm and yet light and airy living experience like a boutique hotel. Under this concept, the public areas respond to the numerous straight lines and hard edges in the industrial structure with gentle curves, and the round dining tables, booths, and sofas jointly create a relaxed and restrained spatial atmosphere.

主卧上方悬挂的定制织毯由日本工匠手工制作，不仅丰富了空间的触感层次，也在色彩与质感上与整体设计形成呼应。通过这些细腻而克制的介入，这座曾以功能性为主的出租阁楼，逐渐转变为一个具有情感温度与长期居住属性的私人居所。

The custom-made carpet hanging above the master bedroom was handcrafted by Japanese artisans. It not only adds depth to the tactile experience of the space, but also harmonizes with the overall design in terms of color and texture. Through these subtle and restrained interventions, this once purely functional rental attic has gradually transformed into a private residence with emotional warmth and long-term living attributes.
