Alice Lacherez,
A small apartment built in the 11th district of Paris in the 1970s has been renovated by interior designer Alice Lacherez, which has emerged with a unique modern charm. The space, originally characterized by straight lines and stainless steel convex windows, typically reflects the architectural style of the 1970s, but lacks individuality overall. Lacherez incorporated Japanese aesthetics into the design, choosing light-colored wood as the main tone, while combining the original metal framework to form a unified decorative language throughout the apartment. The interior layout was optimized, with redundant partitions removed, allowing the living room and kitchen to naturally blend through a custom long bench island, being both practical and comfortable.
In terms of materials and colors, the combination of light oak and mineral materials creates a warm and bright atmosphere, while the simple lines emphasize the purity of the space. The walls are painted cream color, which echoes the honey-colored wooden furniture, avoiding the cold Nordic style. The mirror splashback in the kitchen corresponds to the full glass door at the entrance, allowing natural light to fill the room. The large bookshelf enhances the depth of the room. The height of the furniture has been carefully designed, ensuring that even if the ceiling is not high, the space appears more spacious.
In terms of details and decorations, Laresse introduced artworks selected by Sandra Agostini from the Incuntra Gallery in Boulogne-Billancourt, such as the Serax lamps featuring concrete and chrome bulbs, as well as wall-mounted fixtures of the same color, creating a box-like enclosure effect. The ceramic decorations echo the wooden niches, bringing a subtle Japanese atmosphere. The bedroom is centered around a wide oak headboard, with simple wall lights, keeping the space warm and pure; the dressing room and bathroom combine natural grooves and beige mosaic tiles with the wooden niches to add depth and contrast, continuing the unified decoration style throughout the entire house.
