This residence, located in Colombia and surrounded by the scent of the jungle, is a vivid example of designer Lina Boteros unique interpretation of the concept of living in harmony with nature. Over a decade ago, she purchased an old house here. Although the building itself could no longer meet the demands of modern life, the natural atmosphere of the site captivated her deeply. Despite being in the city, it felt like stepping into a primeval jungle: the air was moist, vegetation grew freely, and light and shadow interlaced in layers, presenting a unique ecological charm. It was precisely in this marginal area where nature meets the city that she began to conceive a new architectural system, hoping to make the residence an extension of natural forces rather than a disruption to the surrounding environment.

新建的住宅以极为开放的结构为基础，尽可能引入光线、空气与大量植物。博特罗（Botero）采用大面积玻璃墙，使室内外景观得以连贯，空间的界限被自然模糊。深色木材与未加修饰的石材进一步强化了与自然的联系。而最为大胆的设计，是让巨大的树木直接穿过建筑结构，使房屋彷佛围绕植物生长，呈现出近乎“共生”的状态。在这里，植物并非点缀性的摆设，而是塑造空间氛围的核心力量，与建筑共同呼吸、共同演绎日常生活。

The newly-built residences are based on an extremely open structure, aiming to introduce as much light, air and plants as possible. Botero uses large glass walls to connect the indoor and outdoor landscapes, blurring the boundaries of the space naturally. Dark wood and unadorned stone further strengthen the connection with nature. The most daring design is to let huge trees directly pass through the building structure, making the house seem to grow around the plants, presenting a state almost like coexistence. Here, plants are not merely decorative elements, but the core force shaping the space atmosphere, breathing and performing daily life together with the building.

艺术作品构成了室内层次的另一条主线。作为设计师与艺术收藏者，博特罗（Botero）将丰富的绘画、雕塑和手工艺品置于空间之中。艺术与植物并不互相竞争，而是以柔和的方式展开对话。作品的材质、色彩与主题在绿植的衬托下更显鲜明，而自然光线的持续变化，也让这些作品呈现出动态的表情。植物的生长性与艺术的凝固性在此互相呼应，共同构筑出一个富有生命力与精神性的居所。

Artworks form another main thread of the interior hierarchy. As a designer and art collector, Botero placed a wealth of paintings, sculptures and handicrafts in the space. Art and plants do not compete with each other; instead, they engage in a gentle dialogue. The materials, colors and themes of the works stand out more vividly against the backdrop of the green plants, and the continuous changes of natural light give these works a dynamic expression. The growth nature of plants and the fixity of art echo each other here, jointly constructing a residence full of vitality and spirituality.

The charm of this residence lies not only in its unique architectural expression, but also in the lifestyle it presents, which lies between the wildness of nature and human aesthetics. For Botero, design is not about establishing a rational order, but rather providing a space for the intersection of nature and art, making living a continuous landscape experience.
