一个兼具展示、表演和传播功能的服装批发与零售场域,折叠于几何切割与虚实交错之间。
A venue for both the wholesale and retail of clothing that combines the functions of display, performance, and communication, folded between geometric cuts and the interplay of reality and illusion.
Intertwined virtual and real spatial blocks
项目位于广州汇美国际服装城内,这里汇聚了大量服装批发品牌,商铺面积从十几平米到一百多平米不等。有趣的是,我们发现每个商铺都使用了相对新颖的装饰材料,通过零散的拼凑形成了一种区域特有的装饰肌理。因此,我希望在这个服装店的设计中,以一种剧烈而果断的空间姿态回应区域内服装批发与零售空间同质化的问题。
The project is located within the Huimei International Garment City in Guangzhou, a hub for numerous clothing wholesale brands. The shop sizes range from several dozen to over one hundred square meters. Interestingly, we found that each shop uses relatively novel decorative materials, and through their fragmented assembly, a unique regional decorative texture has emerged. Therefore, I hope to address the issue of homogenization in the clothing wholesale and retail spaces within the region by adopting a bold and decisive spatial approach in the design of this clothing store.

异型的几何体量、流动的光影长廊与多维的线性杆件共同编织出了一个三重系统,既是展示舞台,也是表演和传播场所,突破了传统服装批发和零售的边界,融合了品牌个性、空间体验和媒介传播,成为了一个持续生成和不断变化的“折叠舞台”。
The irregular geometric volumes, flowing light and shadow corridors, and multidimensional linear rods together weave a triple system. It serves as a stage for display, performance, and communication, breaking the boundaries of traditional clothing wholesale and retail, integrating brand personality, spatial experience, and media communication. It becomes a continuously evolving and changing “folded stage.”
The relationship between humans and the super-scale irregular geometric volumes
空间的核心是一块仿佛从外部闯入室内的巨大几何体量。它以锐利的折线切割出多面体形态,如同一艘未来飞行器的残片,强硬地介入原有的中性场地。
At the core of the space is a huge geometric volume that seems to have burst into the interior from the outside. It is sharply cut into a polyhedral shape, like a fragment of a futuristic aircraft, forcefully intervening into the neutral space.

这块几何体不仅是视觉焦点,更是组织空间的结构核心。它打破了常规的水平与垂直逻辑,以斜向与扭转的姿态延展,模糊了地面与墙体的界限,使观者在进入的瞬间,便感受到被推动与裹挟的动态力量。与此同时,几何体量承担了实际的使用功能——内部集成音响与储藏空间,让“雕塑”成为零售场景的基础设施,而非单纯的装饰。
This geometric volume is not only the visual focal point but also the structural core that organizes the space. It breaks the conventional horizontal and vertical logic, extending with an angled and twisted posture, blurring the boundary between the floor and walls, making the viewer feel the dynamic force pushing and enveloping them as they enter. Meanwhile, the geometric volume also serves practical functions—integrating sound equipment and storage space, transforming the “sculpture” into the infrastructure of the retail scene rather than just a decoration.

围绕这一核心体量,与其交错的空间展开成一条长廊。它并非单纯的流线过渡,通过斜向的布局,尽可能在场地中拉长流线,形成一个可变的舞台:它既是走秀的舞台,也是自媒体传播的背景。在这种意义上,批发与零售空间不再只是陈列与消费的容器,而是被转化为一种开放的表演场所。
Surrounding this core volume, the interwoven space unfolds into a long corridor. It is not merely a streamlined transition; through its slanted layout, the flow is elongated as much as possible within the space, forming a variable stage: it is both a runway and a backdrop for self-media broadcasting. In this sense, wholesale and retail spaces are no longer just containers for display and consumption but have been transformed into an open performance venue.

贯穿全场的线性杆件进一步强化了这种逻辑。作为挂衣杆,它们不仅满足展示功能,也在空间中形成轻盈的边界与虚实交错的秩序。衣物在杆件上漂浮、错落、悬停,既遮蔽又展示,让空间层次随着陈列方式而不断变化。
Linear rods throughout the space further reinforce this logic. As clothing racks, they not only fulfill a display function but also create lightweight boundaries and an interplay of reality and illusion within the space. Clothing floats, falls, and hovers on the rods, both concealing and showcasing, allowing the space’s layers to shift with the arrangement of the displays

材质的对比为空间注入了冷峻的张力。核心几何构筑物采用灰白色石材表面,犹如被切割的巨石,以坚硬而纯粹的肌理成为空间的视觉核心。墙面由混凝土与镀锌板凹槽分割,呈现出粗粝与精致的并置关系。不锈钢管则贯穿全场,构成挂衣与分隔的系统性结构,赋予空间工业化的骨架感。芝麻黑地面以深沉的质感承托整体,使上方的服装与几何体更显突出。
The contrast of materials infuses the space with a cold, tense energy. The core geometric structure features a gray-white stone surface, like a cut giant rock, its hard and pure texture becoming the visual center of the space. The walls are divided by concrete and galvanized steel grooves, presenting a juxtaposition of roughness and delicacy. Stainless steel pipes run throughout the space, forming a systematic structure for hanging clothes and partitioning the space, giving the area an industrial framework feel. The sesame black flooring supports the overall design with a deep texture, highlighting the clothing and geometric forms above.

灯光设计则定义了空间的秩序。长廊顶部的发光灯膜确立了纵深感,并与多维几何体形成虚实交错的关系,在界定空间节奏的同时强化了主体照明。线性杆件区域则布置大量射灯,集中补充服装展示的光照,使产品在冷峻的环境中依旧保持清晰与亮度。通过灯膜的均匀漫射与射灯的定向聚焦,空间在整体与细节之间实现了平衡,营造出既具有未来感,又服务于销售功能的复合光环境。
Lighting design defines the spatial order. The luminous light membrane at the top of the corridor establishes a sense of depth and interacts with the multidimensional geometric volumes, creating a play of reality and illusion. It defines the rhythm of the space while reinforcing the main lighting. In the linear rod area, numerous spotlights are arranged to supplement the illumination for clothing displays, ensuring that the products remain clear and bright even in the cool environment. Through the even diffusion of light from the membrane and the directional focus of the spotlights, the space achieves a balance between the overall and the detailed, creating a complex lighting environment that is both futuristic and supportive of the sales function.
