Villa Arca位于比利时圣马丁斯-拉腾（Sint-Martens-Latem），是一栋由建筑师让·范登·博加尔德（Jean Van den Bogaerde）于1962年设计的现代主义住宅，其命名源于标志性的弧形屋顶造型。整栋住宅以木结构为骨架，配以波纹金属外墙，平面呈对称的矩形构造，风格克制却不失力量感。从构想到完工仅耗时半年，在当时被认为是一次极具前瞻性的建筑实验。

Villa Arca is located in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium. It is a modernist residence designed by architect Jean Van den Bogaerde in 1962, and its name is derived from the iconic arched roof shape. The entire residence is framed by a wooden structure, complemented by corrugated metal facades. Its floor plan features a symmetrical rectangular design, presenting a restrained yet powerful style. From conception to completion, it only took half a year and was regarded as a highly forward-looking architectural experiment at that time.

现任屋主、同时也是建筑师的弗雷德里克·胡福特（Frederic Hooft），自幼便对 Villa Arca 充满向往。经过长达七年的沟通与等待后，他终于如愿购得这栋自童年起便铭刻于心的理想之居。胡福特坦言，自己原本并未计划定居于圣马丁斯-拉腾，而是被这栋独特的建筑深深吸引。他将 Villa Arca 比作一座“洛杉矶的案例研究住宅（Case Study House）”，凝聚了浓厚的国际现代主义精神。

The current owner, Frederic Hooft, who is also an architect, has been longing for Villa Arca since childhood. After seven years of communication and waiting, he finally managed to purchase this ideal home that had been engraved in his heart since childhood as he wished. Hufort admitted that he had no original plan to settle in SAN Martins-Laten, but was deeply attracted by this unique building. He compared Villa Arca to a "Case Study House in Los Angeles", embodying a strong spirit of international modernism.

自2000年代中期起，Villa Arca 连同其花园被正式列为保护遗产。胡福特在搬入后获准对房屋进行功能性的微调。他特别强调，此次更新并非风格上的改造，而是聚焦于居住舒适度与实用性的提升。如水电管线等技术系统的更换均隐蔽处理，以最大程度尊重原始设计。为浴室内选用手工瓷砖，主卫中铺设地毯，以营造更为柔和而感性的使用体验。

Since the mid-2000s, Villa Arca along with its garden has been officially listed as a protected heritage. After moving in, Hufort was allowed to make minor functional adjustments to the house. He particularly emphasized that this update is not a style transformation, but rather focuses on enhancing the comfort and practicality of living. The replacement of technical systems such as water and electricity pipelines is all concealed to respect the original design to the greatest extent. Handcrafted tiles are chosen for the bathroom and carpets are laid in the master bathroom to create a softer and more sensual usage experience.

整栋住宅共分两层：上层为开放式布局，包含起居、厨房、卧室与浴室空间；地面层则设有工作室。屋内构造元素如裸露的胶合板天花与实心榉木地板，彰显出建筑本体的结构美与材料美。透过窗户望向花园，可见一棵高达十四米、移植自荷兰的金荆树（Gleditsia Sunburst Tricanthos），胡福特曾言：“我对大树的热情远超跑车。”，体现了他对于自然意象与生活美学的由衷热爱。

The entire residence is divided into two floors: The upper floor is an open layout, including living, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom Spaces; The ground floor houses studios. The interior structural elements such as the exposed plywood ceiling and solid beech wood floor highlight the structural and material beauty of the building itself. Looking out of the window towards the garden, one can see a 14-meter-tall Gleditsia Sunburst Tricanthos transplanted from the Netherlands. Hufort once said, "My passion for big trees far exceeds that for sports cars." It reflects his sincere love for natural imagery and the aesthetics of life.

In terms of furniture configuration, Huford integrated mid-20th-century and contemporary design works, such as the sofa by Carlo Scarpa, the day bed designed by Poul Kjærholm, and the chairs and stools by Maarten Van Severen. And Muller Van Severens Pillow modular sofa, demonstrating his consistent design concept of focusing on the integration of The Times and tactile experience. In his view, the depth and individuality of a space stem from the intersection and collision of different eras and cultural contexts.
