Openfield山间豪宅,从地脉中生长的建筑

位于新西兰的Crown山脉间,有一座沉静的,如石一般的建筑静立于广袤的山景之中,以一种平衡而永恒的姿态与自然展开对话。它便是Openfield House,当地设计师Keshaw McArthur以独特的建设计哲学,将简洁的几何形式、克制的材料语言与流动的空间叙事交织,创造出一个人和自然共生的诗意居所。
In the Crown Mountains of New Zealand, a quiet stone-like building stands in the middle of a vast mountain landscape, in a balanced and timeless gesture, in dialogue with nature. The building is Openfield House. With a unique architectural philosophy, local designer Keshaw McArthur interweaved simple geometric forms, restrained material language and flowing spatial narrative to create a poetic dwelling where people and nature coexist.

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            
沿着蜿蜒的山间小径步入场地,建筑以低调的姿态呈现。建筑为正方形平面布局,在追求稳定性的同时,回应着当地以方形或矩形建造的矿工小屋、农舍等传统建筑,设计师通过当代的方式对这些原始的居所形态进行重新诠释,赋予建筑一种“似曾相识”的熟悉感。屋顶采用轻盈而坚固的波纹金属,与主体厚重的混凝土墙体形成对比,展现独特张力。
Entering the site along a winding mountain path, the building is presented in a low-key manner. The square layout of the house, while pursuing architectural stability, responds to the local traditional buildings such as miners huts and farmhouses, which are formed in square or rectangle, and the designer reinterprets the form of these original dwellings in a modern way, giving the building a sense of deja vu. The roof is made of light and strong corrugated metal, which provides a unique tension in contrast to the heavy concrete walls of the main building.

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            
Openfield House引入“自由场域”的设计理念,室内并非被固定的墙体分隔,而是围绕着中央壁炉展开,形成开放与围合的平衡。壁炉如同从地面长出的岩石,使得这些坚实的混凝土体块不仅成为建筑一部分,更像是山脉的自然延续。在这片基座之上,一系列雪松木盒子簇拥在简洁的金属屋顶下,营造了一种温暖而纯粹的氛围。
Openfield House adopts the free field design concept, the interior space is not divided by fixed walls, but around the central fireplace, creating a balance of openness and enclosure. The fireplace is like a rock rising from the ground, making these solid concrete volumes more than an integral part of the building, but more like a natural continuation of the mountains. 材料的克制使用,旨在构建层次分明的秩序。材料和构造方式均基于一种抽象的设想:如果建筑的轻质部分在未来被时间侵蚀,那么遗留下来的将如同石碑般成为矗立在大地的遗迹,依然与自然融为一体。这种构思不只是对结构本质的探索,更是对时间沉淀的致敬。
he restrained use of materials aims to create a hierarchical order. The core concept of the building materials and construction is based on an abstract assumption: if the light parts of the building are eroded by time in the future, what remains will be a monument of the earth, still integrated with nature. 住宅被类似于日本传统建筑“缘侧”的内廊所环绕,形成内外的自由过渡。滑动门内嵌于混凝土墙内,使建筑边界的开合既流畅又隐蔽。一条低矮的混凝土基座划定了空间的边界,同时支撑起一套外部滑轨系统。当木质屏风滑动至一侧,宽阔的玻璃门与混凝土低墙形成层叠交错的秩序,让空间在封闭与开放之间自由转换。
The building is surrounded by an inner corridor similar to the edge side of traditional Japanese architecture, creating a transition between the inside and the outside. Hidden sliding doors are embedded in the concrete walls, making the opening and closing of the building boundary smooth and hidden. A low concrete plinth defines the boundaries of the space and supports a system of external slides. When the wooden screen slides to one side, wide glass doors and low concrete walls create a cascading order, allowing the space to shift freely between closed and open.

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            
材质与光影的交错,是另一重默然地叙述。混凝土的粗砺、木材的温润、金属的轻盈,共同编织一幅宁静而深邃的画面。日光射入,材质的肌理在光影间流转,仿佛自然与建筑在无声地交流。夜幕降临,房屋的轮廓在暮色中愈发沉静,如同一座历经风霜的石庙,与天地共存。
The interleaving of material and light and shadow is another silent narrative here. The roughness of the concrete, the warmth of the wood, and the lightness of the metal weave together a picture of tranquility and depth. Daylight falls, the texture of the material flows between the light and shadow, as if nature and architecture are communicating silently. When night falls, the outline of the house becomes more and more quiet in the twilight, like a stone temple after wind and frost, co-existing with heaven and earth.

                            

                            

                            

                            

                            
Openfield House如同一棵静静伫立的古树,既稳固扎根,又随四季变换,回应风的低语,捕捉光的脉动。它保留了场地的原始能量,成为一处真正专属于山野的居所,使用者能够与自然进行最直接地对话。
Openfield House is like an ancient tree standing quietly, firmly rooted, but also with the seasons, responding to the whisper of the wind, catch the pulse of light.
