Everyone has a unique understanding of life. When translated into the design of a space, it becomes a journey of exploring meaning and style, expressing aesthetics and perspectives, and clarifying the relationships between people, objects, space, and life—capturing the essence of living and making the space a comfortable interface between self and life.
We aim to go beyond basic functional needs. Our goal is to push boundaries, return to the essence of life, honor emotional connections, balance personal preferences and rhythms, and bring new meaning and texture to everyday moments.
The spatial layout begins with ‘breaking and restructuring,’ rethinking the scale of living, movement flow, and the relationships between rooms, people, and light. Through color, materials, form, and layout, we create a space that blends urban refinement, natural comfort, and handmade warmth into a richly layered, emotive environment.
A door marks the boundary between inside and outside, shaping the physical and emotional feel of a space. In a home, design should balance openness and comfort.
By removing unnecessary doors and walls, and adding gaps or extensions, we create a sense of flow and warmth, softening boundaries to make the home feel inviting.
NATURE VERSUS EXTRAVAGANCE
Nature is a tapestry of contrasts—both calm and powerful, vast yet adaptable, revealing endless possibilities. In designing spaces, we draw from nature’s beauty to evoke joy and connect with an authentic approach to life.
Thus, for the main materials, we chose natural wood, luxury stone, travertine, antique bronze, stainless steel, and fabric to reflect the earth, rocks, trees, plants, and rivers of nature. Colors like cloud white, flame red, brown, stone gray, misty black, and gilded gold capture the shifting tones and light of the seasons.
The soft furnishings are based on earth tones, accented with the luxury trend color ‘Hunting Flame’ orange-red. Materials like wood and stone, leather and linen, straw, and ceramics blend within a warm palette, creating a look that is both soft and distinctive—a subtle yet bold expression of life.
The space consists of three levels, with the first level as an open leisure area connecting the lounge to the dining bar and extending to a 15-meter outdoor terrace. This design integrates natural light and greenery, merging with the tea room to create a seamless, limitless space for an expanded lifestyle.
The entrance foyer features natural red luxury stone with Eastern garden-inspired lenses, creating a large three-dimensional mural. The deep red and translucent white crystals form unique textures, intertwining poetry of time with moments of life, blending strength and beauty, stillness and movement naturally.
The ceramic art installation Growth, positioned along one side of the wall, incorporates bamboo elements. Its colored pottery is fired into an ascending form, giving resilient, upward-moving life a tangible shape.
he second level is themed “Embrace · Love,” creating private living spaces that are interconnected yet independent. The layout changes the direction of the master bedroom door, enclosing the corridor to extend the entrance inward, resulting in a layout of two suites that do not interfere with each other
The handcrafted ceramic pot in the second-floor porch features a warm golden pattern resembling embracing hands, symbolizing the closeness among family members and an embrace of the future and a beautiful life.
The design of the master bedroom draws inspiration from Jingchu culture, incorporating elements like the Chuxiu dragon, phoenix, and tiger patterns from Wuhan into the decor, such as carpets and lighting. This handmade approach embeds the unique cultural heritage of Wuhan into the space.
The layout borrows from presidential suite configurations, combining luxury with a warm, homely feel. Large floor-to-ceiling windows invite natural light and outdoor views, while the open layout between the bedroom and study creates a flowing connection, offering a serene and harmonious atmosphere.
Opposite the master bedroom is the unique realm for youth, inspired by the film Dune. The golden hues of the desert contrast with natural textures, symbolizing the vitality of youth and the brilliance of the future.
The clash between raw marble and sleek industrial materials represents the tension between nature and order, reflecting the contradictions of adolescence. The designer uses the interplay of light and shadow along with the contrast of materials to subtly convey the growth trajectory of a boy, capturing the distinct personality of youth.
The basement and mezzanine spaces complement each other in functionality. One side features dim lighting for an audio-visual area, while the other connects to a double-height zone in the basement, serving as a workspace for personal interests, seamlessly blending passion and leisure.
The mezzanine space faces the courtyard skylight, utilizing a sloped design to enhance interaction. The underground area captures light from the courtyard, dispelling the darkness below, creating an intriguing connection between the courtyard and the basement.
The sunken design of the audio-visual room enhances comfort, while the wall features hollow light troughs that capture light and views, resembling windows and creating a picturesque effect with subtle illumination.
The wine cabinet uses matte stainless steel instead of mirrored glass, presenting a soft, misty beauty in the reflections, with light being both subtle and transparent.
The large double-height design of the basement enhances the space’s openness and transparency. The addition of expansive light wells in the first-floor courtyard brings in more natural daylight, reducing any sense of confinement.
The curves of the spiral staircase intertwine with light and shadow, resembling a dynamic sculpture. The juxtaposition of the rough textures of the layered walls with modern stainless steel creates a unique geometric aesthetic.
Design in life is not merely about serving the space; it’s a tangible expression of one’s attitude toward living. Every thoughtful design choice and material selection strives to return to the authenticity of life—a warmth that is quietly understated, yet far from ordinary.
