澳大利亚的丛林生态是多样而复杂的，于其中随意建造无疑是一种破坏。在

20世纪后期，建筑大师Glenn Murcutt和Richard Leplastrier借鉴了当地的乡村建筑语言，并根据环境的场地条件建造了一座看似轻松而对环境友好的建筑。

Australias bushland ecology is diverse and complex, and to build in it arbitrarily is undoubtedly a form of destruction. In the late 20th century, master architects Glenn Murcutt and Richard Leplastrier borrowed from the local language of rural architecture and built a seemingly relaxed and environmentally friendly building based on the site conditions of the environment.

受此启发，由

Richard Stampton设计的Yanakie住宅也是对场地及环境的一种回应，并满足业主想要建造一栋能够让人通过居住行为与大地产生关联的房子的诉求。与当代澳洲其他建筑不同于的是，它从其所在环境的特殊性中汲取灵感，同时以此增进建筑与景观之间的联系。

Inspired by this, Yanakie House, designed by Richard Stampton, is also a response to the site and environment, and meets the owners desire to build a house that allows people to relate to the earth through the act of living. Unlike other contemporary Australian buildings, it draws inspiration from the particularities of its environment, while enhancing the connection between the building and the landscape.

In peoples impression, the most typical house is a building located in a single envelope, with a clear orientation and front facade. Yanakie House, by being in the middle of the jungle, breaks this stereotype. Its architectural form has no clear direction, which is a response to the site on which it stands, while the door becomes a metaphorical expression of the front facade.

步入丛林，沿着一条未经修缮的林间小路可抵达一处由九个高度、直径和距离各不相同的夯土和混凝土圆柱体组成的

Yanakie住宅。它们以离散的结构分布于场地之上，从外部看更像是储水罐或其它基础设施的附属建筑，难以让人联想到是一座“房子”。

Step into the jungle and follow an unrepaired forest path to a Yanakie house made up of nine rammed earth and concrete cylinders of varying heights, diameters and distances. They are distributed in discrete structures on the site, and from the outside look more like water storage tanks or other infrastructure ancillary buildings, it is difficult to think of as a house.

当人们行走在各个圆柱体之间时，仿佛开启了一场对空间的探索之旅。建筑与灌木丛之间没有明确的边界，不知在何时你离开了灌木丛，又不知在何时你跨过门进入了屋内。

When people walk between the cylinders, it seems to open a journey of exploration of space. There is no clear boundary between the building and the bush, and you dont know when you leave the bush or when you step through the door into the house.

场地上最大的圆柱体内包含了厨房、餐厅和起居空间；三个较小的圆柱体内则包含了两间卧室和一个浴室；另外还配置了四个水箱和一个最小的储藏室，以供日常生活需要。

The largest cylinder on the site contains the kitchen, dining room and living space; Three smaller cylinders contain two bedrooms and a bathroom; There are also four water tanks and a minimal storage room for daily living needs.

Richard Stampton为每个圆柱体都精心设计了采光井，白天可满足室内光照。而木质家具的使用同样是为了呼应其所处的环境；玻璃材料和可移动门被应用于各个空间当中，开合之间，创造多重的感官体验。

Richard Stampton designed a light well for each cylinder to provide indoor light during the day. The use of wooden furniture is also to echo its environment; Glass materials and movable doors are applied to each space, opening and closing to create multiple sensory experiences.

建筑与自然的交融让人即使只在房子内走动，也仿佛置身于丛林之中。光穿过灌木丛、可领略天气或季节的变化；可清晰的听到鹦鹉的叫声和脚踩在枯树叶上的清脆声；可闻到树木的味道；也可看见穿过树叶落下来的雨，这些独特的感官体验被带入家中，赋予生活别样的丰富性。

The blend of architecture and nature makes people feel like they are in the jungle even if they are only walking inside the house. Just walk through the bushes, appreciate the weather or the changing seasons; You can clearly hear the call of the parrot and the crisp sound of the feet on the dead leaves; You can smell the trees; Rain falling through the leaves can also be seen, and these unique sensory experiences are brought into the home, giving life a different richness.

当夜幕降临时，从远处看，

Yanakie住宅在丛林中散发出光芒，像是被遗落在原野上的一盏灯笼。走近时，它的外观如同一张空白的画布，时间走过，留下印迹，但无人知晓它最终的模样，这是它给人们留下的悬念。

When night falls, from a distance Yanakies house glows in the jungle, like a lantern left on the field. When approached, its appearance is like a blank canvas, time has passed, leaving an impression, but no one knows its final appearance, which is the suspense it leaves people.
