In the historic city of Antwerp, Belgium, Jody Eeckhout, founder of JOE Design Studio, has created a contemporary and welcoming living space for his clients with his masterful design skills. The penthouse, which originally consisted of two separate apartments, was transformed into a highly cohesive home by Eeckhout and his team through a clever fusion.

Jody Eeckhouts design philosophy is to create an environment where the clients art collection can be displayed. She is well aware of the value of works of art, so she fully considers the display and protection of artworks in her design. The design of the apartment not only provides a warm and inviting background for the artwork, but also makes each piece shine in the space through careful polishing of details.

踏入公寓，首先映入眼帘的是明亮的开放式厨房，它配备了定制的饰面和内置的早餐角。这一区域的设计不仅满足了日常生活的功能性需求，也成为家庭成员交流互动的中心。

When you step into the apartment, the first thing you see is the bright open kitchen, which is equipped with custom finishes and a built-in breakfast nook. This area is designed not only to meet the functional needs of daily life, but also to become a center of interaction for family members.

穿过正式的用餐区和起居空间，便是一条由烟熏橡木细木工和暖色调的纹理石膏构成的走廊。这条走廊不仅是连接各个空间的通道，更是展示黑白照片集的完美背景。Eeckhout巧妙地将艺术品装裱在优质橡木中，并配以隐形的防紫外线玻璃，使它们仿佛漂浮在拉丝不锈钢壁龛中，为整个空间增添了一份艺术气息。

Through the formal dining area and living space is a corridor of smoky oak joinery and warm textured plaster. This corridor is not only a passage connecting the various Spaces, but also the perfect backdrop for displaying the black and white photo collection. Eeckhout has cleverly framed the artworks in fine oak and paired them with invisible UV-blocking glass that makes them seem to float in brushed stainless steel niches, adding an artistic touch to the entire space.

在材料的选择上，Eeckhout和他的团队展现了极高的克制与品味。橡木细木工和地板、暖色调的石膏墙、石灰华石台面以及拉丝不锈钢装饰，这些材料的和谐搭配，共同营造出一个温馨而优雅的居住环境。橡木地板的抛光蜡饰面，在自然光的照射下展现出微妙的纹理，进一步增强了空间的质感。

In the choice of materials, Eeckhout and his team showed great restraint and taste. Oak joinery and flooring, warm-toned plaster walls, travertine countertops and brushed stainless steel accents all work together to create a warm and elegant living environment. The polished wax finish of the oak floor, exposed to natural light, reveals a subtle texture that further enhances the texture of the space.

In order to keep the space clean and unified, all fixtures are cleverly integrated into the walls and ceiling. This design approach not only ensures a seamless visual connection, but also provides a clean, unobtrusive blank canvas for the occupants, making their lives and art collections the protagonists of the space.
