Her home was originally a 1930s Cape Cod that she and husband Brad bought in 2014 and spent five years remodeling. Tearing the house down to studs and starting from scratch without the help of an architect, they managed to double square feet by popping the roof line while maintaining the homes historic charm. Despite the modest size of the house, Margaret Neveu took it in stride, making the rooms breathable and comfortable through vaulted ceilings, careful design, and the pursuit of beauty and functionality in each space.

Margaret Neveus design style is a fusion of past and present. Her design career may have started with the purchase of an antique shop, and she has a remarkable ability to combine provenance pieces with a contemporary feel to create one-of-a-kind Spaces. Many of the design elements in the home, from the plaster walls to the curves of most furniture, show her unique taste.

The decor is impressive and the couple are committed to choosing only items they are truly passionate about, even spending three years finding the right dining chair. This proves the value of focusing on buying timeless pieces rather than fashion pieces. The home displays a wealth of art, especially contemporary works, which form a wonderful juxtaposition with the antique collection. The formal living room features outstanding works by Cheryl Donegan, Clare Rojas and Davina Semo, among others, as well as vintage furniture. The sunroom is her favorite space, with vintage fireplaces found in Provence, Hans Jacobsen chandeliers and a variety of retro sculptural chairs paired with large contemporary works by Tom Meacham.

Her style is more contemporary and adept at introducing old World styles and century-old antiques to create an interesting and cohesive tension. Margaret Neveu believes that the best types of homes unfold over time, and her home is the embodiment of her many facets as a designer, wife and mother. The home reflects her design philosophy of creating a space that can evolve with the family over time through careful planning and patient waiting.
