Theres an estate in East Hampton, New York. This house, built or renovated in the 1990s, has high ceilings and large proportions of space, but it is devoid of character and seems to suffer from universal white box syndrome.

Designer Saffron Case took on the challenge of transforming it into a summer and weekend retreat for the New York City property owner and his four children. Fortunately, the house itself has a good skeleton and a smooth layout, which provides a good basis for the renovation.

Saffron Case 把重点放在室内装饰上，通过添加模具和镶板等建筑装饰，为房屋的现代风格增添深度与复杂性。她选用柔和中性的调色板，注重材质的质感，比如椅子的柔软马海毛和羊毛皮，还有蓬松有质感的地毯，为房间营造出平静的氛围。

Saffron Case focuses on interior decoration, adding depth and complexity to the modern style of the house by adding architectural finishes such as molds and paneling. Her palette of soft, neutral colors and emphasis on textures, such as soft mohair and wool on chairs and fluffy, textured rugs, create a calming and nourishing atmosphere.

The Blackman Cruz cactus swivelle chair in the living room is comfortable and special, and the corner cocktail area is equipped with a stone bar and brown mirrors and glass, adding to the charm and dimension of the space. Beautifully textured marble is used in the kitchen and bathroom, and cleverly combined with wallpaper and decorative molding to create a luxurious texture. The master bedroom's Anna Carlin hand-embroidered headboard is a work of art, and the adjoining bathroom's silver freestanding bathtub is by the window, offering views of the Hamptons.

尽管翻新工程进展缓慢，细节繁多，多个团队同时工作场面混乱，但最终在五个月内完成了改造。这所房子变得舒适时尚，充满家的感觉，让业主一家兴奋不已，得以在夏天畅享美好的度假时光。

Although the renovation was slow, detailed and chaotic with multiple teams working at the same time, it was finally completed in five months. The house has become comfortable, stylish and homey, exciting for the family to enjoy their summer vacation.
