Brahman Perera is a life esthetheologist and interior designer from Australia. His works always have a clear intention of functionality and show a harmonious and balanced aesthetic feeling. Moreover, dramatic structural forms enrich the narrative of space and strengthen its own on-site feeling. Highly personalized design services are his way of working, and he takes sound suggestions from all participants to provide effective solutions for each project.
Holbrook is a contemporary family home that explores contemporary architecture from the perspective of appreciating early 20th century design, with Brahman Perera incorporating experiences and memories into a family-friendly space. Due to the abundance of light inside, dark wood, aged brass, different forms of stone, mineral or Mosaic floors are needed to enrich the space. The verticality of the building (from the basement to the three-storey terrace garden) means that flow and echo are important factors, while the variation of the space is distinguished by lighting and texture.
This is Hennes first store in Sydney and is compact yet fully functional. The interior is full of sculptural, graphic elements and soft femininity, with hand-polished wood details, aluminium joinery, quality oak parquet flooring, acrylic shelves with light strips and blue quartz stone shaping the atmosphere of the space. The solid red staircase forms a highly saturated path with a background that reflects the brands energy and confidence.
Formerly a piano bar, Hopper Joint underwent extensive renovation and restoration, resulting in a contemporary cultural space that reflects both family customs and the way people eat and socialize in Melbournes diverse city. The dining room features custom rattan chairs made and imported from Sri Lanka, hand-blown amber glassware and embroidered hemp napkins, inextricably linked to Brahman Pereras Sri Lankan heritage.
