After graduating with a Masters degree in interior Architecture from KU Leuven, Jody gained extensive practical experience as an interior architect or designer in various companies before setting up Joe Design Studio. He is currently leading the studio to provide clients with a full range of design services from design conception to project landing, aiming to create a modern and timeless environment for them, and the pursuit of precise detail expression.

Inspired by the interplay of light and shadow in Eastern architecture, Studio 11:11 explores another depth of space through innovative treatments. In the two-story house, they designed light rooms and skylights, allowing users to freely control the light and transparency of the house. The neutral colors of the interior complement the vibrant interior courtyard, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere for the house. The studio chose to juxtapose a large, whole-stone structure with a smaller, cobblestone floor to show the inherent elegance of the original texture.

Located in a leafy suburb of Melbourne, Heyington House was converted from a 1930s home. The original architects sought inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement, emphasizing the use of quality materials and honest expression of function. Studio 11:11 Restored the original look of the building while preserving and respecting the original architects philosophy, and then incorporated modern functions into the house to meet the current needs of the owner.

The owner of the house had recently moved back to New Zealand after working overseas. According to the clients needs, Studio 11:11 chooses a tone that makes people feel quiet and natural, simple and rich in texture. Carefully selected vintage furniture and antique ornaments form a classic match with modern style, creating a sense of familiarity and permanence for the space. At the same time, the studio collaborated with local artisans to make this ideal home a reality.

住宅是对自然材料的回应，它简洁而优雅，有着令人冷静的魅力。为了建立居住者与住宅的紧密联系，业主积极参与手工制作和选择每一种材料。一层有沉重的岩石墙、洞石、光面的立面和裸露着骨料混凝土的地板，这种看似复杂的纹理层通过使用相似的中性色调来达到一种平衡。在二层，坚硬的表面被毛绒地毯和暖色调的木材所覆盖，创造一个更亲密和宁静的居家环境。

Masseria House is a response to natural materials, simple and elegant, with a calming charm. In order to create a close connection between the occupants and the house, the owner was actively involved in the hand-making and selection of each material. With heavy rock walls, cavernous stones, glazed facades and bare aggregate concrete floors on the ground floor, this seemingly complex textured layer is balanced by the use of similar neutral tones. On the second floor, hard surfaces are covered with plush carpets and warm-toned wood to create a more intimate and peaceful home environment.

Studio 11:11 believes that function is the basis of all design, their works not only have a unique beauty, but also to a certain extent away from the trend, advocating practicality, aiming to build a purposeful space or object carrier, to provide users with reasonable professional services. The studio believes that simplicity is achieved through continuous refinement, which reveals the intrinsic nature of different projects.

They pursue the temperature of craftsmanship while filling it with a natural sheen over time, so they often work with local artisans to carefully select each material, creating a sense of calm timelessness through the use of natural, neutral tones and harmonizing forms.
