为一对有两个年幼孩子的年轻夫妇建造家庭住宅，Lawless - Meyerson 公司受聘在这栋俯瞰塔玛拉玛海滩公园的 90 年代南向住宅的现有占地面积内进行设计。

Creating a family home for a young couple with two young children Lawless - Meyerson was engaged to work within the existing footprint of this south facing 90s home overlooking Tamarama Beach park.

虽然位于海边，但业主们追求的是一个适合家庭生活和娱乐的精致空间，而不是当地常见的传统 海岸 美学。屋主游历各地，精通设计，因此力求打造一个充满有趣艺术品和家具的优雅住宅。新窗户的巧妙布置进一步促进了室内的空气流通、温暖和采光，同时开放内部空间，将一些区域打造成开放式空间，让家人可以聚在一起，保留现有的房间也是为了享受宁静和独处。

Although a beach-side location, the owners were after a sophisticated space for family living and entertaining – not a traditional ‘coastal’ aesthetic that is often seen in this locale. Well travelled and well-versed in design, the owners strove for an elegant house filled with interesting pieces of art and furniture. Clever placement of new windows has further invited airflow, warmth and light into the home and while opening the internal space to create some areas as open plan for the family to be together, existing rooms were kept in order to also enjoy peace and solitude.

CKR Residence, designed by STUDIO—LIU, stands as a serene oasis within Sydneys Inner West, defying the trend of maximalism with its thoughtful and restrained approach to home design. Embracing simplicity and intentionality, the residence embodies the essence of slow living and deliberate construction, paying homage to time-honored interior design principles and materials. Inspired by the artistry of James Turrell, the design emphasizes spatial flow and immersive vistas, creating a journey-like experience throughout the home.

在追求宁静和轻盈的愿望下，这个年轻的五口之家与工作室紧密合作，实现了一种与欧洲家居相似的平静而庄重的感觉。对材质而非实物的关注，促成了对耐用自然装饰材料的精心展开，如大理石、石膏、木材和金属，挑战了杰出设计必须极繁的传统观念。通过这种方式，CKR Residence 以其低调的优雅，倡导用意旨取代繁复。

Driven by a desire for tranquility and lightness, the young family of five collaborated closely with the studio to achieve a quiet yet dignified sensibility reminiscent of European homes. The focus on materiality over physical items led to the curation of long-lasting, natural finishes such as marbles, plasters, timbers, and metals, challenging the prevailing belief that exceptional design necessitates maximalism. Through this approach, CKR Residence speaks volumes through its understated elegance, championing intention over opulence.
