peter haimerl – studio for architecture and consulting is a company specialized in architecture and urban issues. Since its foundation in 1991 the studio explores the potential of existing technologies for architecture through several projects.

Living concept: The Honeycomb House exhibits an extremely favorable ratio of living space to floor area. The spatial experience of a honeycomb apartment corresponds to one that is 1.3 times larger. In fact, the usable floor area is even greater because the sloping ceilings can also be mostly utilized. Due to the honeycomb shape, the spatial orientation changes.

主要的空间方向不是垂直于立面，而是纵向于立面，自然光明显更宽。因此，更多的存储空间可以沿着内墙被最佳地容纳。另一个优点是布置简单，因为它只涉及在现有斜坡上建造和扩大。

Instead of being perpendicular to the facade, the main spatial orientation is longitudinal to the facade with significantly broader natural light. As a result, much more storage space can be optimally accommodated along the interior walls. Another advantage is that furnishing is simplified as it merely involves building upon and expanding the existing slopes.

此外，居住在“向上”的蜂巢内提供了更多的家具和使用的可能性。蜂巢只有一个楼梯，所有的公寓和公共空间都连接在楼梯上。建筑的所有居民都共享一个直接通往屋顶花园的公共通道和聚集区。

Additionally, living upwards within the honeycomb offers more possibilities for furnishing and use. The honeycomb has only one staircase, to which all apartments and communal spaces are attached. All residents of the building share a common access and gathering zone that leads directly to the rooftop garden.

蜂巢是模块化建造的，提供了广泛的生活组合。本质上，MAMAWABE是一个大型的公共生活空间，结合了没有厨房的小单元，以及“蜂窝结构”的1室、2室、3室和4室公寓。

The honeycombs are modularly constructed, offering a wide range of living combinations. Essentially, MAMAWABE is a large communal living space that combines small individual cells without kitchens, as well as 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-room apartments in a honeycomb structure.

项目目标:Riem的蜂巢住宅已经证明了它适合社区生活形式。生活空间不仅在使用上显得更大、更多功能，而且它们也可以以各种方式组合起来。消除墙壁和通过倾斜平面的可达性有助于更好的经济数字。在未来，蜂窝将被制造成预制单元，可供建筑师和开发商使用。

Project objective: The Honeycomb House in Riem has demonstrated its suitability for communal living forms. The living spaces not only appear larger and more versatile in use, but they can also be combined in various ways. The elimination of walls and the accessibility via the sloping planes contribute to better economic figures. In the future, honeycombs will be manufactured as prefabricated units that can be utilized by architects and developers.
