This carefully crafted home by Studio Bright is not only a tribute to 1970s nostalgia, but also a perfect example of modern design and function. Mansard House is known for its unique moss-covered SLATE sloped roof, and the ingenious design of its interior renovation has injected new energy and modernity into the house.

The core concept of the design is the balance between preservation and transformation. While respecting the aesthetics of the original building, the team at Studio Bright cleverly introduced modern elements, allowing Mansard House to retain the charm of the 70s while exuding a modern sophistication. Design Director Melissa Bright said the clients need to incorporate more modern elements into the renovation of the family home was an important source of inspiration for their design. Through careful design, Studio Bright has managed to incorporate pictorial elements of hotels and places seen by clients on their travels into Mansard House, creating a space that is both comfortable and personal.

Most of the original layout has been retained, with only appropriate adjustments to the customers needs. Through strategic wall removal, the designers created an open-plan living space that creates a harmonious dialogue between the interior and the natural landscape beyond. The north-facing living area is designed through steel-framed Windows that not only enhance panoramic views, but also complement the SLATE and brick elements of the house.
