Southampton Beach House
Southampton Beach House, designed by Kelly Behun, is located on the east coast of the United States, making full use of the location and views of the house, standing out with its modern and sophisticated approach, and blending perfectly with the surrounding dazzling scenery, harmoniously in a relaxed atmosphere Luxurious elements are incorporated to give it a unique seaside lifestyle.
Kelly Behun showcases the minimalist beauty of this space. The whole is composed of soft tones, with white as the main tone. To emphasize the sea and sky outside, the designer also combined blue and neutral tones to create a sense of tranquility with an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic.
The living room uses warm furniture such as elegant sofas and beautiful central tables to create a comfortable and relaxing place. The designer does not want to overemphasize the details, and uses as few items as possible to emphasize the functionality of the space, which is extremely minimalist.
The kitchen tries to create a space where function and aesthetics fit perfectly. The designer combines elegance and practicality, citing natural elements such as wood. The treatment of the central island platform gives it a modern flavor, and the finishing touch of the chandelier makes this cooking space a friendly social place for enjoying meals.

Designers wrapped the projection room in aqua blue textiles, from cotton velvet upholstery to silk rugs, giving the blue an ocean-like embrace. A vintage Camaleonda modular sofa by Mario Bellini, reupholstered in Schumachers Velvet in the Sky.
The spiral entrance staircase is made of reinforced architectural concrete like frozen springs. Ceramic stools dot the floor by Hun Chung Lee.
The office features a fireplace and stunning ocean views, classic desk chairs by Charles - Ray Eames for Herman Miller and vintage leather Egg chairs by Arne Jacobsen to create the ideal workplace.
The bedroom introduces the outdoor sea view through large floor-to-ceiling windows. The minimalist decoration combines soft fabrics and natural textures to create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and provide residents with the greatest sense of comfort.
The master suite has a wrap-around terrace and soaking tub, and the weather is part of the decor. The designer sourced Christian Astuguevieille Ilef rope stools through Holly Hunt and vintage tribal hand-knotted linens through Rug - Kilim. The ceramic vase on the dressing table is by Adrienne Fierman.
The bathroom on the second floor is completely covered in marble, with beautiful green-gray veins that swirl like water. Skylights bathe the space in sunlight. The custom egg-shaped mirrors are produced by Novocatrian. Bronze vase by Haas Brothers via R - Company gallery.
The covered lanai features a wood burning fireplace and TV for entertainment. The large planters are by Atelier Vierkant and the outdoor sofas are by Janus et Cie.
Kelly Behun and Barnes Coy Architects worked with LaGuardia Landscape Architecture to create a tranquil, minimalist botanical landscape around the pool. The teak lounge chair was designed by James Perse, the cushions are made of Sunbrella canvas, and the drum side table is from Janus et Cie.
The contemporary concrete and glass structure, designed by Barnes Coy Architects, is an upside-down residence—guest rooms on the first floor, and the master suite, living room, kitchen, and dining room on the second floor, granting sweeping beach views.
Kelly Behuns blend of luxury, elegance and relaxation exemplifies contemporary interior design in perfect harmony with its coastal surroundings.
KELLY BEHUN
Kelly Behun grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon moving to New York she joined Ian Schrager Hotels’ in-house Design Studio where she trained under architect Anda Andrei and worked with renowned designers Andrée Putman and Philippe Starck. While there she was an integral member of the design team that created a number of their most iconic properties including the Delano in Miami, Mondrian in Los Angeles, and Royalton, Paramount, Morgans, and Hudson hotels in New York City.
She later opened Kelly Behun Studio, which has become known for its comprehensive and highly bespoke approach to interior design projects and its exclusive line of furniture and home accessories. Kellys design work has been featured in numerous domestic and international design and shelter magazines, books and television shows. Her line is sold through 1stDibs, the Met Breuer shop, and other exclusive outlets, including The Invisible Collection and L’Objet. Kelly is an Architectural Digest AD100 Interior Designer and a member of Elle Décor Magazine’s A-List of Interior Designers.
Labeled by the New York Times as an interior designer with the eye of a gallerist, she has deep ties to the art world and her clients have included high profile individuals from the worlds of business, technology, politics, and entertainment.

Current projects include the interiors for a Robert Stern luxury condominium tower on Madison Avenue, private residences in New York, London, and south Florida, as well as collections in collaboration with The Rug Company, The Invisible Collection, Hudson Valley Lighting, and L’Objet.
