HAY 酒店
HAY Hotel
This five-star hotel in the heart of the ski resort of Bukovel has two restaurants and a local SPA. Its a place to slow down, blend in with nature and immerse yourself in the Exquisite Carpathians.
The concept of the hotel stems from an admiration for the luxurious Carpathian natural scenery. The plant atlas includes 88 native herbs. As a result, the hotel restaurants are called 88vinotheque and 88daily Local.
On a hot summer day, the sun burns the grass and turns it into fragrant hay, rustling gently at the foot. This hay gave the hotel its name and became the central theme of its design.
The hotel building enjoys a 360-degree panoramic view of the Carpathian Mountains landscape. You can see different parts of the hillside from the windows of each room.
The building is organically integrated into the landscape, like a piece of rock and layers of plants. Local trees, grass, strawberries and blackberries adorn the hotels facades, terraces and balconies. Plants change in the same way that nature does: some grow at the foot of mountains, others on hillsides and hilltops.
The hotel lobby, dining room and guestrooms are exquisitely decorated with elements that illustrate the history of local craftsmanship. Textiles from Ukrainian studio Morgental are a new interpretation of Ukrainian symbols and charm. Litvinenko Designs carpet is an authors take on traditional wool weaving. The armchair of the Ukrainian brand Noom is a new Ukrainian design inspired by modernist aesthetics and conquering the world with emotional minimalism.
The hotel has 40 rooms. Their interiors are restrained in tone and rich in texture. In some rooms, ceramic bathtubs stand next to panoramic windows. Therefore, you can enjoy the scenery directly from it.
The unique table in the guest room is reminiscent of local forging traditions. The huge oak tabletop is fastened to an anvil-shaped cast iron base. The lamp incorporates the design of the table and gives off a comfortable soft light through a texture made of hay.
The clothes hooks in the room are shaped like the rough forged nails you see in the ancient museum. The metal staples used as room furniture handles also borrowed from the Carpathian Mountains blacksmiths. The same big metal staples hold the wood paneling around the dining-room columns.
One of Hays design features a metal swimming pool on the 6th floor of the hotel. Part of the aqueduct is indoors, and part of the aqueduct is in an open space where you can enjoy the view from the end of the glass swimming pool.
There are round portholes at the bottom of the pool, which lead to the ceiling of the lower corridor. The fifth-floor corridor became Hays Instagram hangout. It resembles an oceanarium where hotel guests swim instead of sharks and seahorses. In addition, the porthole generates additional lighting sources. Their effect is like a beam of light falling through a thick canopy onto a forest clearing.
“Our goal is to maximize the exposure of the Carpathian region and to combine the hotels exterior space with its deep essence. The restrained palette, intelligent solutions and comfort are maximally immersed in nature, while the unnecessary stays behind the scenes. In addition, we cleverly integrated the craft elements into the interior to reveal the deep essence of Ukrainian design,” said Volodymyr NEPIYVODA, architect and founder of the YOD Group.
