STUDIO QI建筑事务所2012年由戚山山创立于美国，现在杭州设立创作和研究性事务所。

STUDIO QI坚持用全然不同的创造性思维和设计语言，专注于构建人、建筑、自然和社会的微妙关系，用思辨性的2.5维建筑学理论，从贴近人的角度去探讨和研究建筑的作用力，挖掘建筑在社会中潜在的能量。

STUDIO QI ARCHITECTS founded in New York - Hangzhou, is an international cutting-edge architectural design firm specializing in innovative design projects. The design studio focuses on the complexity and sensibility of spatial relationships, wherein it applies 2.5 Dimensional Thinking and Systematic Approaches to generate critical studies and designs for the future.

STRAY BIRD是一家尖端的精品酒店，位于地球上最壮丽的地方之一：中国宁夏自治区的一片被黄河和腾格里沙漠包围的孤立绿洲。STRAY BIRD静静地坐在花圃里，凝视着芦苇丛；一列绿色的火车沿着无尽的沙漠地平线缓缓行驶

STRAY BIRD is a cutting-edge boutique hotel, located in one of the most magnificent places on earth: an isolated oasis encircled by both the Yellow River and Tengger Desert in CHINA’s Ningxia Autonomous Region. STRAY BIRD sits quietly in the blossom orchard, while gazing through the reeds; a green train runs slowly alongside the endless horizon of the desert.

拥有如此独特的景观，STRAY BIRD因此需要挑战传统的夯土建筑版式，并以生态和通风的结构重新呈现自己。这样的设计也激发了对建筑透明度的持续讨论，从而产生了本地化的新定义

With such a unique landscape, STRAY BIRD is thus required to challenge the traditional rammed-earth architectural typography, and to re-present itself in an ecological and airy structure. Such design also inspires continual discussions of architectural transparency, thereby engendering new definitions for localization.

作为一个度假胜地，STRAY BIRD专注于放松和悠闲体验的条件。根据空间事件和身体动作的定义；因此，空间被划分为三个不同的程序区：坐着、站着和睡觉

As a holiday resort place, STRAY BIRD focuses on conditions for relaxation and leisurely experiences. According to the definitions of spatial events and actions of the body; the space is therefore divided into three distinct programmatic zones as: sitting, standing, and sleeping.

STRAY BIRD通过透明的相互作用，邀请黄河和沙漠进入太空。它模糊了建筑和自然之间的界限，同时质疑了传统的建筑方式和由多层实心墙构成的分隔。对于STRAY BIRD来说，结构和材料的缺失是为了欣赏宏伟的景观而设计的。建筑现在充满了光线和空气。

STRAY BIRD invites the Yellow River and desert into the space by the interplay of transparency. It blurs the boundaries between architecture and nature, while interrogating the traditional means of construction and the separations rendered by layers of solid walls. For STRAY BIRD, the absence of structure and material is fashioned for the appreciation of the grand landscape. The architecture is now filled and imbued with light and air.

Nine House

西塘是江南的缩影，以其桥梁、水道、船只、糯米糕点和茶馆为特色。然而，这是一个有着深厚文化的地方，充满了世俗生活的气息，提供了像家一样的旅居。

Xitang is the epitome of Jiangnan, manifested by its bridges, waterway, boats, sticky-rice pastry and teahouses. It is a place of profound culture, however, filled with the scent of mundane life and provides home-like sojourn.

该项目位于古西塘镇的北部，该地区由政府分配，作为老城区的扩建，以弥补社会多样性的不足。该项目位于新扩建区的边界，旨在成为一家拥有几间客房的精品酒店

The project is located to the north of the ancient Xitang town, an area allocated by the government as the expansion of the old town to compensate for the lack of social diversity. The project is at the very boundary of the new expansion area, aiming to be a boutique hotel with a few guest rooms.

项目的身份从一开始就很清楚，这是一个充满了丰富社会活动的住宅。这不仅仅是一家酒店。除了客房之外，它还提供了一个促进交流的平台，让诗人、艺术家、建筑师和所有艺术爱好者聚集在一起，与真实的江南生活方式互动。

The identity of the project is made clear from the very beginning, which is a dwelling filled with abundant social activities. It is much more than a hotel. Other than the guest rooms, it provides a platform that stimulates communications where poets, artists, architects, and all art-lovers aggregate and interact with authentic Jiangnan lifestyle.

该项目与传统的重复性住宿酒店非常不同，它接受了“社交生活方式”的概念，并回归了水乡的简单状态。九宫本身就是一个自给自足的微型社会

The geographic characteristics determine the typology of the settlement. Xitang is weaved by lanes and alleys, crossed by rivers and banks; the residents are piled up upon the shore, shifting and growing organically.
