Or whatever提供早午餐和咖啡，由位于韩国釜山的 design by 83 工作室设计。它位于釜山的Jeonpo咖啡街。

Or whatever serves brunch and coffee, and is designed by “design by 83” studio based in Busan, South Korea. It is located on Jeonpo Cafe Street in Busan.

At the first meeting with the client, we wondered how the brand name Or whatever had become a name that the client had in mind, and asked about the meaning of it.

The client said “Or whatever” is something that could express herself in a way that nothing is stereotyped, and it could tell a lot about her free spirit.

When we heard these ideas from the client, we wanted to break free from the stereotypes of the existing cafe space with our own interpretation. For example, I thought it would be nice to have a free, light, and distinct personality rather than the usual cafe layout centered on vertical, horizontal, and right-angle bars.

此外，我们竖起了现有商店中剩余的砖石，并利用已经抹灰的统一复古墙作为圆形体的背景，这也是为喜欢装修前商店友好形象的老顾客考虑。

In addition, we erected the masonry bricks remaining in the existing store and utilized the unified vintage wall that had been plastered as a background for the circular mass, which is a consideration for regular customers who like the friendly image of the store before the renovation.

支撑圆柱体的柱子是用桦木胶合板完成的，在这里你可以感受到物理性质的自然变化，类似的特殊绘画给人以统一的感觉，这样就不会有与旧墙疏离的感觉。

The pillars supporting the cylindrical mass were finished with birch plywood, where you can feel the natural change in physical properties, and a similar special painting gave a sense of unity so that there is no feeling of alienation from the old wall.

We wanted the formative cylindrical mass to stand out visually when looking from the outside through the production lighting using aluminum plates, and the whole glass exterior was designed to unify the relationship between the inside and the outside space (form/texture/color/atmosphere).

The Café-bar is located in the central area of the city, in the street full of buzz and dining places to enjoy. The project took place in the multistoried building which once was erected as an administrative center.

In recent years first renovation and then expansion took place and the building was converted into multiple office spaces. Built to accommodate numerous closed spaces, it has certain construction limits to spatial transformation.

The perimeter of work comprises a basement space, an existing first-floor level, and an expanded newly built space.

Additionally, the white color and reflectiveness of the foiled ceilings serve as a perfect background for colorful lights cast from the scenic spots, as well as videos projected with the theater projectors.

Aluminum construction is installed on some parts of the ceilings to create a frame for installations. It refers to the initial idea of transformative settings for different kinds of events and occasions.

As a result of the renovation, the column that used to be an outdoor construction remained intact and has become a central part of the composition of the entrance area. Special stucco material on walls and ceilings duplicates the original rendering that used to be on the façade before thermal insulation and conveys the original style.
