Slow Beam is a jewel-box of a house designed specifically for our client, photographer Lauren Bamford, as a unique Hobart getaway. The two linked pavilions take advantage of an existing cutting from a previous owner’s abandoned earthworks. The northern facing rear of the house looks to the rock cutting and steeply sloping meadow above, while the southern aspect gives views of the Derwent River and rooftops of central Hobart.

Slow Beam为设计师提供了一个玩透视、形式和色彩的机会。整个房子的内外墙体都被染成了黑色，轻易将人的视线引向被大窗户框住的迷人风景。墨尔本艺术家Esther Stewart的定制地毯将客厅包裹在华丽而色彩缤纷的几何形状中，在通体黑色的空间中格外亮眼。

The interiors of Slow Beam were an opportunity to play with perspective, form, and colour. Black stained ply interiors draw the eye outward as carefully selected views are framed by large windows, custom carpet by Melbourne-based artist Esther Stewart wraps the lounge in opulent and joyously colourful geometries.

Light-colored soft furnishings neutralize the oppression of the black walls and ceiling, injecting a comfortable and warm atmosphere into the bedroom.
