The studio collaborated with architecture firm Rigney Scerri on a waterfront housing project. Saddle Club is a contemporary beachfront home spanning four floors that recreates the look and feel of an Argentine polo Club. The design aesthetic is based on the idea of a small smart private hotel, with different floors representing different areas.

Swee Lims desired aesthetics are set in luxurious surroundings with a strong preference for soft textures of velvet, leather and wood. The tones overlap pastel blues and greens to create a rich and intimate feeling. Wool carpets, natural materials and artwork were used to cascading the space and bring warmth and texture to offset the chill of the stone walls and floors. The project transformed the originally vast and stately space into a relaxed, sophisticated and warm forever home for a family of five.

Jade House is a perfect combination of culture and style. Here, high-end Italian design meets the fashion of Paris to create a truly international Australian home. The owner of this 1920s Toorak House, who travels abroad frequently, wanted an elegant place that reflected her international tastes. In addition to using the house as a preparation for family visits, it is important to make it a refined space where the host can entertain related business in case of need.

Carpenters Square House

The importance of the house comes from the highly detailed recessed slatted ceilings and dusty geometric purple brick structure that forms the floors and walls. Natural materials, earthen tones and textures abound, all of which are undulating architectural forms and brick structures.

Studio Splinter Society took inspiration from an old quarry in Northcote, a suburb of Melbourne, to design a sturdy family home. The design team introduced more than a dozen corner stones around the house to respect the original and scale of the corner stones.

The client’s brief for this country retreat was for a family home that would be supremely comfortable for farm life but also elegant for entertaining and hosting large family get-togethers. Extensive in scope, the project comprised the selection of lighting, finishes, furniture, sculptural objects and accessories to furnish this five bedroom residence.
