Vincent van Duysen architects embedded the project into the existing landscape and paid tribute to the old-fashioned agricultural buildings typical of rural Klein Brabant in a modern way. The most important common factor in asparagus cultivation and viticulture is that both require linear planting and ensure a horizontal image in the landscape. They are happy about this and let the building talk to the landscape.

Vincent van Duysen always looks for traditional clues in a contemporary way. The dark wood and steel of the roof volume constitute the shelter, these elements refer to the old truss structure typical of sheds. Dark colors contrast with the green characteristics of the field.

The fundamentals of the Flanders farm and the concept of a square farmhouse were retained as starting points. The project consists of multiple parts that form a hierarchy: a multifunctional main building for wine production and a wine tasting room, an outbuilding for agricultural equipment and a house.

The architects approach is defined by the use of pure and tangible materials to define a clear and timeless design. Their attention was focused on pure aesthetics. The use of concrete and wood in this project contrasts with the landscape. Concrete is the foundation of a building. Dark wood is a reference to the wooden structure in the old barn. The surrounding environment, the courtyard and the entrance square are covered with lava connected to the human environment.
