The request from Kvadrat was to create an installation during the Salone del Mobile for their showroom in Milan, focusing on two textiles, Canvas and Steelcut Trio, which will be presented in a rage of new colours.

We wanted to create an installation using a single element, completely made of textile.

The repetition will create a playful installation, as well focus on the textiles and present the new colours. Textile is the “mask” of a furniture, it changes its personality or make it act in an unexpected way. We play with the iconic shape and expression of ancient mask. Masks are not only used in ceremonies, which is a very ancient human practice from different cultures, masks are different meaning for protection or rituals as well used as ornamentation and different performance. Our aim was to emphasize the celebration of textile through this antique tradition.
