Located in Brussels, Belgium, this loft was designed with a distinct, pure and minimalist approach. The original site was a former carpenters’ workshop separated from the adjacent neighbors by a high wall. When obtaining permission to demolish half of the separation wall, we used the opportunity to create a patio and design a large custom-made steel framed window stretching out over both floors to maximize the openness and transparency of the rear elevation. Defined by simplicity and careful detailing, the white interiors are completed with a number of iconic furniture pieces from designers such as Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret and Serge Mouille. Different shades of patinated wood and grey textures blend into the whiteness of the wall surfaces in a neutral, calm and sophisticated environment.
